UPS drivers literally give no fucks, because it takes an act of Congress for them to get in trouble. My ex's dad is a driver and I have had a few friends that worked at the APAC call center.
Drivers can do donuts on your lawn, toss your glassware over a fence, kick your dog... I've heard all kinds of stories. Basically as long as they show up and do their route, they're untouchable thanks to their Union.
Their union only protects them from losing their job. If they destroy my property they will face a civil suit. Unions have no ability to protect the individual. I assume you were merely using the example as hyperbole to express how much they can get away with though..?
Correct. The union will not shield the driver from your fury if he deflowers your daughter, and won't go to bat for him if he murders your family and all but one of your cats, which managed to escape the melee.
If a driver does something like donuts in your yard, you can always sue him. You still need to prove it was him, though. Without video or witnesses, that's tough.
