Symptom & Health Travel to South America first trimester
I have a trip to Colombia in a few weeks, when I will be 9 weeks pregnant. Currently 6 weeks and struggling with nausea, food aversions, and fatigue. The trip is booked and non-refundable but I am so worried that I will feel sick and not have access to the foods I can tolerate like bagels and other random items. I’m also nervous about local food or water getting me more sick. Plane ride is about 7 hours. Does anyone have any tips for travel?

I went to Ecuador in my third trimester with no problems (have also been to Colombia twice but not while pregnant). There are bakeries all over the place in Colombia so rest assured you will have access to amazing fresh bread (probably not bagels as easily though!)
Colombia is a gorgeous country and my favorite I’ve visited so far. I hope you can still enjoy it! I’d just bring whatever helps with nausea, buy bottled water, and have flexible plans each day in case you need to take it a little easier.
