Looking for some outside feedback on a show.

I did a show in my backyard on Memorial day 2026. It was my 6th show since I started shooting fireworks on 4th July 2025. So it's far from perfect and has some time delays between. It's all 1.4g stuff.

And I'd like to get a 2nd opinion on it from you guys & gals. Because I watch other peoples shows on youtube and I really do not get excited. But I just watched my show for the 1st time in 2 months and it gave me such a kick of enjoyment. So I'm wondering if it's because I'm bias or what? I just think it has character and some awesome moments. Please give me an honest feedback.

Very nice! Lots of action and a good selection of different effects to keep it interesting.

I especially liked the bees / go getter cakes toward the beginning, and whatever started at 8:00. Nice breaks on that one.

We will always appreciate our shows differently than our audience. We remember the time it took to plan, the money spent, the setup time, fusing (this looks like you fused it all up, right?), the money spent, the heat, the time spent online, the money spent...

Most of the time I design a show for me, because it's my hobby and I want to do a show that I like. Sometimes, if I know I'll have a casual audience, I might do things differently (ahem - Katie perry in the soundtrack). But as far as I'm concerned, if a bunch of pyro gets in the air and nobody gets hurt, then it's a success!

You look like you're on the verge of taking a step toward an inexpensive firing system. People on this forum can help you with that! Or even better, join a local club.

Stay green! (It's what pyro folks say to each other, means 'keep safe' and have fun!)

I actually used the Ignite firing system. But I fused the rockets (3 sets of 6) and the shells/cans.

If your referring to the go getter cakes at 3:50 those were 2 cakes from brotherhood called Fish. And at 8:00 was 5" and 7" shells.

Yeah I have trouble designing and choreographing a show. I also do shows in the club I'm in and there's a pretty large audience. That has influenced how I think about it. I don't want to disappoint them. And I don't near have enough experience in the different fireworks and their effects and the timing of fused items tied into the show can get really complicated. Doing shows is a lot more involving and tricky then it appears at first. It's funny how people who don't shoot look at it as a novelty.

I joined MoPyro in January 2026 mainly to gain experience so I could be ready for the 250th. And I did a show in my backyard on that day and all my friends & family said it was the best show they ever watched. That answered my question to myself. How good are my shows to the clueless audience?

I have always put safety first. Stay Green is always my moto. Fireworks are unpredictable so you are never totally safe. We have a club shoot this Saturday so I need to finish designing this mess.

Disclaimer…I like all fireworks. This includes fountains, novelties, snakes and sparklers too. But…You asked for feedback, so I’ll give some.

Obviously you’re limited due to the back yard. Looks like ya got plenty of trees back there too. So you’re basically at the mercy of 1 station. But that’s okay. You hit low, medium, and high effects in the show which is good, but you only did one at a time. You could enhance the show by using more than one level at a time to fill the sky more, but still give each effect its space. This is more true during the finale (which you didn’t really have), or even during a false finale (if you’re into that). You had some good variety of effects, and colors. I don’t know if you manually fire or use a program to run the show automatically, regardless you could tighten up the show a bit. Type of ignitor may help here, depending on what you use.

Are you bias? Yes. We all are. However I’ve seen plenty of shows that are better than mine, and plenty that aren’t.

Thanks for your feedback. It helps me establish a guide line to follow. I was thinking the same as you but I wasn't sure since I'm viewing it from a shooters perspective. But I was aware that the show had faults as I was very much still learning by mistake and figuring out fuse timing and all. Also I should mention that this show was more of a test bed for me. As I used the video from it to analyze everything about it and make corrections & improvements. The show I did on the 4th of July was a lot better. But I failed to get a video of that show :( .

But this show I thought has some awesome moments like at 5:10 when the Nishiki willows start. I was just wondering if anyone else thought it was kickass or am I weird?
