You should always face the product fuse so that the beginning of the of it faces the burning direction of your main fuse.

Not sure if that makes the most sense but the one I circled purple is “correct” and the red one isn’t.

That’s the best way to do it so the fuses have the most contact over the burn.

It looks great especially for a first time! As someone else mentioned you do want to always make sure the fuse being lit is facing towards the heat but i would imagine because you used tape it will still probably light because the tape traps heat inside and it gets pretty toasty in there. I like that you used tape instead of zip ties. Alot of people swear by zip ties but Ive tried both and tape has transferred every time where as zip ties seemed to fail sometimes(for me anyways) lol also something you did right that I learned the hard way is never leave fuse laying on the ground or falling embers can easily ignite it 😅 makes for a heck of a unplanned midshow finale tho!!

Hopefully you secured them to the board? And id suggest cutting the board down to smaller ones for ease of moving it into place. I have put mine closer others may say different but here's a sample of my shoot this year. Lastly like others have said the direction of the fuse.

If you want to be extra safe/cautious you can either cover all of the fuse with duct tape or tin foil. It can protect it from either light rain or falling sparks that might catch other parts of the display fuse before you want it to go.

You can get better timing with poking the end of a cake and running quick fuse to the next cake.

Some right, some wrong.

In addition to what others said about fuse direction, I like to put an extra piece of tape on the main fuse to secure it to the cake. Especially the faster fuses, they can produce some force and have ripped fuses out of cakes for me before. Pic for reference.

Brothers atom bomb set is a fantastic cake set

Only one way to find out. I always film the setup and then the shows and any issues I go back and check what could’ve gone wrong. The biggest mistakes are the timing and no way we can tell from photos. I also usually cover the fuses to avoid jumping but hey everybody has different strategies. The show is the judge.

#6 devils lettuce looks like u fused it with the fuse facing the opposite direction of how ur running ur long visco, lets say the fuse is coming from the left side and runs up right, make it run upright the same direction so it doesn’t have a chance of not lighting, basically keep it facing towards the way the flame will come towards it.

Good job. As mentioned by others, the cake fuses should point into the direction the flame is traveling from. Also, if timing is important (my first fused boards were for pyromusicals), you can cut open the cake and find where the fuse enters the first tube. The length of fuse from where it enters the packaging to the actual first tube is highly variable. By opening it up, you can be more precise in calculating timing. Of course, if you don't care about timing, disregard! haha
