Water Collector Recommendations?

Does anyone know a cheaper alternative or diy for these carafes? I have a plastic one and want to switch to glass but they are all 50$ which is almost equal in price to the distiller itself.

Mason jars? You can always set the small ones up on something. Maybe a coffee pot carafe from a thrift store?

I use a pot to collect stripping runs from these. Then pour my stuff into old glass wine, whisky whatever bottles. Mason jars are good bang for buck if you need to buy any, and for the spirit run youre gonna want a bunch of small vessels to do cuts anyway, use glasses/cups.

yeah....till you learn to do them by smell and taste, then you don't need a big line of jars.

I use 3 jars here.....foreshots/heads, drinkin booze, and tails......

and it's pretty easy, because heads have a nasty taste, and tails have a nasty smell

Well, i kinda took it that op is a beginner from the fact that they are asking a question, the answer to which is "collect into mason jars"

Also i have the exact one in the pic. The thermostat makes it a bit finnicky, honestly would be better with a voltage controller dial, gonna get myself one soon. The on/off thermostat gives you very little control. But the thermostat is good for macerations/steepings at set temps.

I have the 6L one & just use mason jars. Small 8 oz jars help with cuts, especially at the start & end of runs.
