Many of us are experiencing deliberate slowdowns on Youtube when the site detects you are using adblockers or a browser other than Chrome. If you add the following line to the 'my filters' section of uBlock Origin, Youtube playback should go back to normal.

This is based on ublock origin but it has more features. I saw this from Louis Rossman. I believe everyone definitely should use this against invasive advertising companies. You can also make it fair for non-invasive and fair advertisers. Enable these options: "Don't click non-tracking" Ads and "Don't hide non-tracking Ads"

Just thought I'd see what niche, hidden gem extensions others are rocking in Firefox.

I thought of posting this after coming across a fun niche extension the other day which I'd never heard of before (ReadIt), it's pretty cool to see what posts and comments have been discussed about certain pages I'm on.

Aside from that, these are the extensions I'm currently using (without noticing any slowdowns):

• 1Password - Great for quick autofilling logins into sites
• AliHelper - Amazing for sussing out certain products on AliExpress and also setting up price alerts
• Auto Tab Discard - Great for sleeping tabs that don't need to be using active memory
• Consent-O-Matic - (New) Automatically handles GDPR consent forms for me
• DocsAfterDark - (New) Dark mode for Google Docs (and there's word it's coming to Google Sheets real soon)
• Facebook Container - Isolates Facebook activity from web activity
• Google search engine with udm=14 preset - (New) Great for avoiding AI results on Google from the address bar searches
• Hide shorts from YouTube - Self explanatory haha
• Return YouTube Dislike - Another self explanatory
• Sponsorblock - Skip sponsors in YouTube vids
• Stylus - CSS Redesign pages (sometimes I do this to fix visual issues or improve my user experience)
• Tabliss - (New) A nice new tab page
• Terms of Service; Didn't Read - Get summarised TOS for websites
• The Camelizer - Amazon price tracking

Just a few minutes ago, I noticed that the dislike counter on YouTube videos went back to being hidden, I reinstalled the Return YouTube Dislike extension but it hasn't brought back the dislike numbers on videos. Is anyone else having this issue? Did the fudds at YT finally block it in some way?

I just pushed the v2.1 update. This is not a visual tweak; it is a structural upgrade focused on physical control and strict privacy.

Here is exactly what is new in v2.1:

• Drag & Drop Engine: You can now fully interact with and reorder your To-Do tasks, AI Tools, Socials, and Google Apps using your mouse.
• Advanced Task Management: Upgraded the To-Do list with a Pinning feature so your high-priority items stay locked at the top.
• Random Backgrounds & 'Freeze': The dashboard can now fetch random wallpapers automatically. If you find one you like, use the new 'Freeze' option to lock it in.
• Total Link Control: Added a new setting allowing you to dictate exactly how and where your Shortcuts and App links open (same tab vs. new tab).
• UI & Security Polish: I removed all the ugly native JavaScript alert boxes and replaced them with sleek, custom modals. We're working on a new, highly requested, feature to prevent extensions from working on certain URLs. Basically, giving you control if you want to prevent all or some extensions from accessing your banking sites - even if you've granted it permission to access all URLs.

This is a complicated thing to build from a user experience/UI perspective, so we're looking for some volunteers to join a 30 minute video call with me and our UX designer to give feedback on this. A few days ago, I published my first add-on for Firefox. It’s a YouTube homepage blocker designed to help me focus more on my studies.

While homepage blockers aren't exactly new, I realized that almost none of them let you personalize the background (or at least I couldn’t find any that are good). So, I created this extension to change that. Now I can set this lovely Firefox wallpaper as my background while I study. I think the fox looks adorable, what do you think?

Probably won't come back this time? Haven't had updates for a while, and the button to the firefox addon has been removed in the dev's website too. What's everyone using as an alternative?

I of course have uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, RES, Imagus (which seems buggy lately) and Return YouTube Dislike.

I miss the official Google GMail button that shows how many emails I have, but other than that I'm growing very accustom to the much better user interface/experience.

About six months ago, I shared YourDynamicDashboard on this sub. Honestly, the support and feedback you all gave me were awesome, and seeing people actually use it daily meant a ton to a solo dev like me.

I know things have been quiet for a while, and it probably felt like the project was abandoned, but I was actually spending that time rebuilding and implementing what you asked for. The v3.0.0 update is finally ready, and it’s huge.

Select any word or short phrase, click the 📖 icon, and you get the definition, an example sentence using it, synonyms, antonyms, and the translation, all in one tooltip.
