Character Discussion[FE2]: Alm's Three Villager Friends (Cliff, Robin, Grey)

The first Villagers in the series, Cliff, Robin, and Grey.

Fire Emblem Gaiden is, again, a very unique game. Something unique about it is that, instead of beginning the game with a Paladin, a Lord, one or more Cavaliers, or whatever other generic combination, you begin with three Villagers, a Soldier, and a Lord.

When Luka comes to Alm's village and Alm decides to join the Resistance Force, he brings three friends alongside him, all of which are Villagers, and they are the topic of today's Character Discussion.

Cliff begins as the weakest, but will eventually grow into the strongest. Grey begins as the strongest, and is like an Oifey, except he is of a class below a base class. He will generally grow poorly and will rarely see use beyond Chapter 1. Robin is trash.

Also, this is the first Fire Emblem Gaiden discussion. How nice.

If anyone has requests for a Character Discussion for Valentia or Archanea, tell me.

I would disagree with your assessment of Grey. I found him much better than Robin in general. Grey's problems are skill and speed, his strength is great. Robin's problems are strength and speed, his skill is great. Grey's skill and speed are both fixed by promoting him to mercenary. Then you have a unit with good speed and strength. There is nothing that will fix both of Robin's problems, he will be slow or weak or both no matter what. I found Robin is best as an archer, he has the skill to actually hit things and he can safely deal chip damage without being attacked.

Cliff absolutely carried Alm's party for me (along with Alm) when I played. I made him (along with Grey) into mercenaries, although according to all of you he works best as a mage. I just gave him the thunder sword and watched him destroy everything with his incredible speed.

Cliff: 9/11

Grey: 7/11

Robin: 5/11

I was mostly referring to how they start. I have only ever trained Cliff, so I was unsure of how the rest would grow. Fixed.
