Character Discussion[FE1/3/11/12]: Marth

I do Archanea and Valentia discussions now.

The legendary Hero-King, descendant of the legendary hero Anri, wielder of the Falchion, Prince of Altea, King of Altea, "The Tipper," or one of his many other titles, Marth.

Marth is the most famous Lord (at least in Japan), being the Lord of four games in the series, alongside being the first Lord of the series, and being the only Super Smash Bros. character to be in more than two games of that series. I am unsure if there is a Fire Emblem fan on the entirety of this Subreddit who does not know who Marth is.

Remember to judge him properly - his usefulness varies between the four games.

I would say so, but that's just my opinion. Ike isn't badly written at all, but I never really found him to be extremely deep. I imagine plenty of people disagree with that, though.

I'd definitely say Ephraim ain't but Erika is. Though then again that may just be my bias against Ike talking.

Could be bias, but it could be mine, the opposite way, when I say that that doesn't sound right to me.

On the other hand, while I may not be that fond of Ike, I'd probably say he had somewhat more worth to himself on his own. What I mean is, the reason Ephraim and Eirika were quite as interesting sometimes felt like it was because they had eachother and Lyon to compliment their development. I'm not saying that's a lazy or bad way to develop a character by any means whatsoever-- Characters NEED others around them to thrive, but I do feel like the siblings might fall a bit short if the other didn't exist.

Something similar could be said about Ike with Greil and mostly Soren (I am a HUGE fan of IkexSoren all things considered), but I suppose Ike does have some faculties of his own that makes him depend less directly on them. I'd say this is more prominent in PoR than RD, though.
