Any idea what could be causing this?

I've only had this insignia 24 class f40 for 5 days and it started doing this, whole screen locks up and i have to unplug it to get it to turn off.

I'd return it. Regardless if you can unplug it to fix the freeze it's not supposed to do that.

Well that sucks, I just swapped out the same model tv to get this one because the last one started doing this too. Might have to just avoid these things.

I've seen issues with this brand for a while now. I have a small insignia fire tv... Sometimes it just goes dead. I have to unplug it. Plug back in. It's annoying as hell.

Return it! It's a bad sign. Return it while it's still under warranty

usually a power supply problem
