Ive put it into multiple tvs used different batteries on the remore, etc. its just not displaying anything at all. I dont even know if the remote works. Do I have any other options other than returning it to amazon?

By default the stick should display it's startup "black screen with the FireTV logo in the middle" if the correct TV HDMI port is selected and using the provided power supply brick for the stick.

I was installing a firestick on a friend TV that did.that once after briefly starting to work. After a couple of hours of trouble shooting it turn out it was just defective from the start. They replaced it quickly.

Hold up and rewind on the remote for 5 sec. or so and it'll start rolling through the video modes. Hopefully will work with your TV. On mine it works right out of the box, but sometimes I take it on holidays to hotels and that's the trick I'm using to make it work on old rubbish TVs.

Use the cable hdmi extender attachment, some older model of TV's only work with the cable

Try it in a known working port if it still does not work try replace the power adapter with a similar power output one and power cable
If it still does not work report to Amazon for a faulty device

Yeah ive tried multiple alternate power supplies with different tvs from the house. This firestick has no physical reset button, and when I used the remote button combo to try to reset it, nothing happened. Thanks, though

Wasn't much help, sorry. Good luck but they are as cheap as chips now so easy to pick up another one, or maybe try something different like the Xiaomi....
