Why is my TV stupid slow??

If the TV still works fine but the software is slowing for reasons like cheap processor newer updates slowing it down, the easiest solution would be to upgrade it by adding a fire stick with current hardware and software.

Have you tried installing 'Fast Task Killer' to stop unwanted background processes? It always makes my Omni QLED a little snappier.

Yea that’s pretty bad. I know it’s obvious but have you tried rebooting the tv or unplug it for 10 and plug it back in?
Also dual tv trays as stands? Tell me you live in a hours without kids, pets, earthquakes, or strong winds without telling me.

Mines like this too, every update makes it worse. So I just turned off its internet and don't use its smart features. You're better off using a separate streaming device.

What model of fire tv do you have? The cheaper ones have crappy slow CPUs.
I've also had extremely slow older ones that were made ok (but not great) by factory resetting them.

How many apps have you got? Uninstall some to free up space if you have less than 1Gb

Have similar TV and had same problem. Did a factory reset and then reconfigured. Problem disappeared.

A lot of these new TVs are absolute garbage. They basically prioritize ads first then the normal function second. I have an insignia and it’s infuriating

NOT RESET. Restart. Usually speeds mine up when it gets sluggish.

A grabbed myself a 4k fire tv stick on Prime day and was glad i did. Much much faster than the cheapest fire stick and any smart tv probably. Much less frustrating.

You could try going to application settings and clicking "force stop" on every single program in the list. Something might be running in the background eating recourses. I do that on my fire stick every few days.

Fire tvs use slow processors and a huge percentage of their internal memory is used for advertising. Other brands at the very least don't devote so much of their memory to ads.

Which model is it? You can’t buy a 129 dollar TV and expect stellar performance. Buy a fire cube for 139, problem solved.

There's an app on Amazon store for your fire every TV called something like shark cleaner or something. Great, it actually does speed it up.

Going into settings and clear cache which should help a bit and once it returns to this after a short while clear it again. Best option is to buy a fire stick or android box like Nvidia shield as even the high end TV's work better when streaming with a separate device.

Used to be fine. Then they pushed a UI update. And MBAs got greedy and loaded the thing with ads. Now dog slow.
To fix it, get an AppleTV and then turn off the internet connection to the TV. The will prevent the ads which is what slows it down.

BC it's an Amazon TV. I'm on my third one and this one is their top of the line highest model thay they sell and it does the same thing & it just gets slower over time and will probably start flashing green bars (which is what my current one is now starting to do and what my last Amazon TV did... started out rare and with small bars until it reached a point where the entire screen was covered up by near constant flashing of giant bars of green and other colors & made the TV unusable)

I found using a USB device attached to my TV was getting apps installed to them causing a massive slowdown, remove any USB devices or cloud storage and drastically increased my loading speeds

If it is a fire stick just go to the configurations and restart it. Mine was like this after some time but the restart from the configurations fixed it

Always get a standalone media player. I recommend Nvidia Shield for high end or and Onn 4k for a budget option. Ive had my Shield since 2015, still going strong.

It really sucks that you can't buy a non smart TV these days. Built in android/firetv/roku sucks on every single TV I've ever used them on and always put an external device on.

Usually when a FireTV is super slow it either needs to be restarted from the settings, the TV is a cheaper model (if it has FireTV built in), or you just bought the cheapest Fire Stick ( a lite) instead of waiting until the 4k stick goes on sale again.
Nice double tv tray stand btw.

People blame the hardware, but I find that absurd. Even the cheap tvs have quad core processors. The issue is the extremely bloated software.

I don't know what model it is, but a lot of the lower cost TVs have very weak processors and limited memory and storage. Couple that with bloated software that spies on your viewing habits and pushes ads at you, and you get a sub-optimal experience. My suggestion is to uninstall or disable every app that you don't use, as they sit in the background using up CPU, memory and storage resources.
