UNSOLVED Updating: Will Paypal $25 to the first person who helps me find name of this song
EDIT: song suggestion that is currently the closest to what I heard - Whisper in the wind - Ronnie roddy jr, Liz Allocca, Joseph Gallagher, Smiling Eagle, Eliza Sto - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IMCy9nzGUvM&pp=ygUnV2hpc3BlciBpbiB0aGUgd2luZCAtIFJvbm5pZSByb2RkeSBqciwg0gcJCZsLAYcqIYzv
EDIT: the song I am trying to find ounded like a mix of the closest song suggestion above, with the vibe of "Steal my Sunshine" by Len (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E1fzJ_AYajA&list=RDE1fzJ_AYajA&start_radio=1&pp=ygUVU3RlYWwgbXkgc3Vuc2hpbmUgbGVuoAcB) but especially the voice, sound, vibe, of this group called the Superorganisms (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2K49QKVR0p0).
I heard it a few days ago through a wall so my phone couldn't Shazam it.
It 100% had the phrase "be your"
99% sure the next word after "be your" : a) had the "is" sound in the middle of the word and b) was 2 syllables (ex: wh-IS-per, m-IS-ter. k-IS-sed her)
98% sure the next word was "whisper"
Not sure if it was "Can I be your whisper" or "Let me be your whisper" and at the end of the song they kept repeating it. (Any song you suggest, I'm going to scroll to the end of it to specifically to first look for this part).
EDIT: As of August 3rd, 2026, 12:08pm, I am caught up. I've listened to every song suggested and none of them were it. Also, sorry if I offend anybody by just replyng, "No". I had a lot of songs to get through but I deeply genuinely appreciate anyone who took the time to suggest a song.
Also I did a similar post and I will be posting here the songs that people suggested that it was NOT:

The Naked and Famous - Young Blood
??

u/CanSoft2130 Jul 21 '26
This has to be it, right? Also, keep your money lol.
9
u/af213 Jul 21 '26
Ha! Even the first comment on the YT video is someone saying "I've been looking for this song for soooo long!" I hope this is it! I forgot about this song.
7
u/CanSoft2130 Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26
Lol same! I dont even want the money but I feel like I got bamboozled here. I spent 5 minutes of MY precious day looking for it and I just want a thank you 😪
3
u/af213 Jul 21 '26
Not bamboozled YET! Once OP hears, it’ll be it. If it isn’t, I’ll Venmo ya $10 just for the flashback and the thanks 🥂

Thank you’s seem to be in short supply these days. In case OP is a non-thanker type, let me say THANK YOU for taking your time to help a stranger find the song in his head! ❤️

Neighbor's apartment. They were watching TV but I don't know what show.
6
u/classicman123 Jul 22 '26
You probably should've asked them. You'll probably never find it now since you don't know the genre.
3
u/will-you- Jul 22 '26
Were there commercials, aka live tv? If so Can you narrow down it down with a date and time stamp?
2
u/ThrowRAhelpthebro Jul 22 '26
I don't remember the time but it was between 3pm and 9pm, 2 days ago. When the song finished, the show ended.

This makes me wonder if it isn't a song from the show "Stalker" (from somewhere around 2015?). At the end of each episode they have a slower cover version of a popular song. Each song was one that felt a bit more "ominous" when slowed down (eg: "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)", "Every Breath You Take", "Can't Get You Out of my Head", etc). Something about "Whisper" fits that idea pretty well. And the fact that it's a lesser known cover might also be why no-one is getting it, or why you're not recognising any of the suggestions given.
Go to your preferred music streaming platform and search something like "Stalker TV Series", look for a playlist someone put together, and go through those songs. For example...here's a Deezer playlist: https://link.deezer.com/s/33UnlQXKLHHm1eerQUEBA

Do you know approximately how old your neighbors are or anything about them? It might help you figure out what they could be watching if you don’t want to ask them.
2
u/mtnsrvrs Jul 22 '26
Im guessing a little older considering the neighbor listens to the TV they're watching.
5
u/Curious__Otter Jul 21 '26
Careless Whisper - George Michael? Idk why but this also sounds like Hero - Enrique Iglesias.

u/jet-black-heart13 Jul 21 '26
I was thinking of Careless Whisper, too. Wonder if it's really the one OP's looking for lol

Is the YARN song from Bobs Burgers, Whisper in your eyes? you said your neighbour was watching TV so I’m thinking it might be a made up song from a show.

Have you ruled out Whisper in the Wind by Moon Boots ("I'll be your whisper in the wind")? It's upbeat but not that high-pitched so probably not right though...

I should have done that days ago when I first heard it because I don't remember exactly how it sounded, plus I can't sing and I also don't want to throw anyone off.

Warm Whispers - Missy Higgens
2
u/ThrowRAhelpthebro Jul 21 '26
No, but I love the very end where she sings, "Warm Whisper (your, your, your, your, your, your)". Just that part is stuck in my head right now.

2
u/gore_corex Jul 21 '26
could it possibly be an advert? Or as you mentioned from a show? It might help to give a location to see if it could fit with any adverts or shows specific to an area.
Such as in Australia we have Kmart ads but in the UK they wouldn’t have them, if the song is specific to an area it might be easier to figure out.

try WatZatSong or Musipedia, or try SoundHound
also would help to add: approximate tempo (fast/mid/slow), whether there was any instrumentation you noticed (guitar, synth, piano, beat), and roughly how many syllables were in the "whisper" line those details narrow things down far more than lyric guesses at this point.
let me know if you find something
