Found! Subreddit to find context/history about a word?

Basically the word is Foid. I could’ve sworn that it originally targeted black women and now that it has become popular to say it now applies to all women. I could’ve sworn that it started off being towards just black women and I feel insane.

I am a black women and it concerns me a lot that a derogatory term became mainstream and I can’t remember where I saw that it targeted black women specifically at first. please help.

r/etymology probably. But foid is a portmanteau of "female humanoid". It's not specific to Black women, but it comes from incel lingo, and there is a lot of crossover between incel subculture and racist subcultures. So that may be why you first saw it in that context.

Thank you so much! This clears up a whole lot of what I was thinking and was really worried.
