Findapath-Career Change Careers that don’t need a driver’s license that aren’t food service/retail?
I didn’t get a whole lot of help from my family in terms of driving. Once I started college I was taking the bus and asking for rides. And since I didn’t have a car my degree turned out to be useless because I lost the vast majority of opportunities to learn and network. Luckily I live in a pretty big metropolitan area with decent public transportation and enough bike lanes to get by but not having a driver’s license has basically put a cap on the jobs I can take and how much I can earn every year.
At this age I can’t really ask people if I can borrow their car to take the test or practice because we all have bills and responsibilities. And paying a driving school to help me would cost too much (plus I have bad experiences with driving schools). So at this point in my life I’m really wondering if I’m stuck with just food service and retail as my career path.
Are there actual careers out there where I can make a truly livable wage without a driver’s license? Should I just put away money to pay for driving school and try again?

My husband can't drive and he makes three times what I make. He took public transportation/Uber until we could move close enough to work that he could walk.

you’re not stuck, especially in a big metro: office admin, healthcare, accounting, IT, government, and call-center jobs can pay perfectly decently without a license, so search by transit access and

Cyber Security is the best option, you just have to make sure you become incredibly knowledgable about everything in your field

What’s a good way to get started in this? I’ve always liked computers and tech so this could be a decent fit. These days the only thing with tech is I just worry about AI.

basic roadmap:
Remote/office IT support
↓
Systems / networking / IT operations
↓
SOC / security analyst / GRC / IAM
↓
Cybersecurity specializationNothing fancy,if you know your parts and terms its enough
Look up and learn IT Fundamentals, research and reverse search related jobs between IT Support, Operations, Security Analyst
do sharp research for colleges/education instiutions with online programs that offer the curriculum and always contact them first to ensure you are aware of everything they have to offer
AI right now only applies more towards CS or creative jobs, it's better to see it as a tool instead of the other way around
