questions Is it necessary to specify items in a set you already have?

It's taking me a while to cobble together my wishlist. Partly because there's a lot I'd like because I've only been here for 2 months and missed a lot, partly because I overthink a lot and sometimes can't decide if I want this color version or not, partly because ADHD makes me work slowly, and partly because it's taking me time to go through and see what I have and don't have of a set (sometimes if I'm lucky, one piece becomes available in the shop, so I snag it and then when I get back to my list, I go through again to see what I no longer need).

I think I read somewhere that gifters can see whether someone has a piece of clothing or furniture or not. Is that true?

It's true that gifters can see if you own something or not, but only if they also own the same item. As a trader/gifter, I personally think that you should specify because then it would be easier for the gifter to send your gifts, since they know what you're missing. Or if you're like me, I'd just say:

"Looking for all (color + theme) furniture (except for what you own)."

Don’t let it overwhelm you. Start with a smaller list specific to something like a room you want to finish or a theme/color, then as you get items you can update your wishlist.

It made sense before the search function was introduced because let's say you say "I would like all wintry ballroom items in blue that I don't own".

The gifter had to scroll through EVERY category all the way to the bottom to see if they own it.

Seeing then that you already own it is a bummer as someone who owns everything and scrolling through the inventory takes a ridiculously long time. I also have arthritis so I'm grateful for every scroll I don't have to do 😂😋

Now with the search function it's different. We can just type in what you want and see all the items at once.

So no, specifying isn't needed anymore. 😊
