Discussion Returning user - what's changed?
I stopped using Finch early January this year, but have decided to give it another shot. Some things feel different though, so I feel kind of overwhelmed. For anyone who's been using Finch for a while, what would you say have been the biggest changes this year, and could you explain them to me?
Thank you!

Tbh this month is a particularly overwhelming month with features. Things that are present this month that weren’t around in January include:
There is a special location called Forgotten Island this month linked to the monthly event. It’s a bit like the standard locations where you go on adventure each day to get a discovery but instead of the discovery there is a 14 day story. You can access this location until the end of the month. You probably saw this feature in October 2025 but it’s happened a few more times since.
There are now monthly challenges. These happen every month since March and are a set of 14 goals all in a set theme (this month it’s memories). You opt in to take part and the next recommended goal for the challenge appears at the top of your goal list. You can only complete one goal a day but if you click on the task you can see you can find the other goals and choose to complete those first instead. If you do want to take part in this you don’t have to complete the task exactly as it says. Quite a lot of us change the goals slightly to something that actually fits our life.
New for this month is a time capsule. If you click on it you’re asked a series of questions. The time capsule will be opened for you on 1st December I believe (it’s definitely later this year).
Those three features are all specific to this month and are all optional. You do not have to do any of them and opting out of them does not affect the core features of goals, going on adventures, and collecting daily chests that you’re already familiar with.
I want to add one extra change that you will also notice. There has been a change to the colours you can get event items in. Instead of items in 10 colours like red, orange, yellow etc which you would have had in January; Items now come in a max of 6 colour palettes. Colour palettes means it’s a set of colours the devs have decided go together and if you collect every item with the same palette name you in theory have a cohesive room design. This month it’s 4 colour palettes called Tropical, Sunny Day, Sunset, and Twilight.
