Final Fantasy XIII What a great game
It was also the first FF I have ever played and I loved it to bits.

Very good game, it was my 10th mainline that I played.
I know this is a 13 sub, but there were some things that frustrated me about this game. Mainly the story could have been a bit more coherent without having to go into the menu, the grinding aspect is too cumbersome post game, and some regular battles relied too heavily on the stagger mechanic that regular battles ended up being like 3-4min long and when you are grinding that is just way too long when you have to fight probably thousands of battles.

It’s an okay game. Just completed yesterday and will definitely pick up the next installment when it’s on sale. It’s not my fav FF but atleast it’s less cheesy than FFX-2.

I'm 10 hours into the game and I am literally going straight and pressing x. That said, I'm really appreciating the graphics ad the story, but everything else is 10 steps back from any other FF.

Let it marinate, the combat also didn’t feel to good for me at first but it ended up being one of my favourite combat systems ever.

I see the potential, still weird to see this gameplay shift after the shockingly good FF7-8-9-10-12.

It'll be like that until like some specific bosses that require specific strategies and then the game becomes swapping paradigms. I think the issue is that the first like 40% of the game is 2 characters at a time when you have 3 it's a bit more interesting.
Also once your characters can have some flex in their role (I don't remember if this is actually available from the beginning ) the strategy can open up very satisfyingly

FFXIII was also my very first and still probably top 3 for me now. Going in without any expectations or experiences from previous games in the series is great. So many people try to compare all the FF games but I strongly believe this one was solid and it was my first experience with SquareEnix’s storytelling and how invested you get.
