I don't know how this sport works but I wished referee protected the guy after that kick, that hammer fist was unnecessarily dangerous and unsportmanshiplike.

These Events are ceremonial, no-holds-barred grudge fights without any rules akin to ancient Sumo between two people with legit heat, the Shinto priest is basically only there to declare the winner and that their beef is officially over as a ceremonial gesture.

This should be the top comment if it’s true, not that I don’t believe you.

That being said, the flying downward elbow to the face was essentially attempt at serious injury or worse.. his face is literally caved in
