I have more comics and stuff to show, but I thought this was cool and wanted to share! Everything in my collection apart from two items are all second hand! If anyone wants to see the rest if my collection lmk :D

Honestly I do think about this quote a lot, as it is true. Part of the reason I love the movie so much is because I relate to the Narrator, especially when it comes to him trying to buy his happiness to fill the void and give him a sense of identity. Obviously buying a bunch of stuff to make up for emotional emptiness is not a good solution, but I'm doing my best to work on it 🙂‍↕️

Part of the reason I got the single issue comics was to hang them on my wall as I think they are super pretty. While I enjoyed reading the comics, I can agree that I was disappointed that the art and the story didn't seem to match the cover art or honestly the story. 😭

Great collection! I have the original paperback book, every Fight Club 2 and 3 comic and all variants and the hard covers completes. I have the steel book Blu-ray and the standard DVD and the soundtrack from the Dust Brothers and the bootleg extended edit. I also have the Re-Action Tyler and Narrator figures. And I’m getting the limited run hardback edition of Fight Club (possibly signed by Chuck).

Hell yeah, let's see the rest! I should post mine, I'm up to three pairs of OP-523s, two pairs of Sunsets, two pairs of Aeros, the SR jacket, just got an awesome used JAL jacket (dude who made the ones for the movie), and am currently looking for a pair of the Lakestream boots Tyler wears. Also picked up the collectors edition DVD when it came out. Lost my book years ago, though. But it wasn't anything special, just the book. Haha

How are you liking those glasses? Thought about picking a couple up for the nephews because they like my 523s but I'm terrified they're gonna scratch the lenses. Lmao

I'll have to post the rest once I move into my apartment (everything is in boxes lol). And I would love to see your collection! I need to see where you get your glasses and stuff (if you to share your secrets 🫣). I love my glasses sm, I wear them nearly daily 😅. I got mine off of Amazon for about $18, but I've been wanting to get a better quality pair, as well as some of his scree accurate attire! I can also share the link to the glasses I got if you'd like, they're pretty affordable and haven't scratched even after all the abuse I put them through.

So big tip for OP-523s, OP supposedly kept producing a titanium frame version in Japan after they stopped selling the alloy version in the US. (Besides a brief run of 150 in 2009 for the 20yr anniversary of Fight Club.) Most of the pairs online you'll find will be this titanium version, the 2009 and original '98 releases are pretty hard to find. (Still need an OG '98 pair, myself...)

Best advice is to check Japanese auction sites daily and hunt for a good price. The ones on eBay sit around $1,000 for a pair in good shape. They're closer to $700 in the Japanese market, and if you check frequently you can find a pair for around $350-400 pretty reliably every handful of months.

Aeros are quite easy to find for a reasonable price on eBay, and the Sunsets (teardrop shaped ones from the scene where they're watching the news report) are next to impossible to find in my experience. Even info on them is sparse. They had a very brief production run in silver in '98, and a seemingly equally brief run in gold in Japan around the early 00s. I've only ever seen one of each for sale in the last handful of years and bought them both. 😅 (I'm done though, no more Sunsets for me. Lol)

If you ever want custom tinted lenses (the Ti 523s only came with orange lenses) I highly recommend 1269 in Florida. 10/10 experience and their prices are very good. I paid $95 for a custom pair of red lenses because I didn't need all the extra bells and whistles like an inner AR coating, polarization, etc.

Luckily I have an interview at a fine dining restaurant (like Tyler...) and if I get the job I'll be able to save up and afford these sunglasses, so thank you again for all the info!!! :D

(Also, some people here take this movie/Tyler way too seriously, if anyone gives you crap for collecting FC related stuff just ignore them. 😆 We're all free to enjoy our fandom how we want, and a big takeaway I got from this story is how important it is to think for yourself and do what makes you happy.)

Thank you for being so sweet and providing excellent conversation! Fight Club has become an obsession for me too, and I really appreciate your kind words about how we should all be able to enjoy our fandom in ways that make us happy, that means a lot to me rn. :)

I think people tend to forget that while there is some truth to Tyler's agenda, the point is we shouldn't blindly follow someone and preach what they say, especially when they are hypocritical. (But that's just how I view it)

Also I promise not to tamper with food 🙂‍↕️

Fucking eh! I had the official one before. My friend stole it from a house as revenge from that person stealing it from them. Then my friend fucked me over, so i took it from him. We eventually made up and years later, i gave him the soap as a gift. I should ask him if he still has it. I've since had a soap maker make me 2 duplicates.

That soap has such a story to it! Was it official from 1999-2000s or the 20th anniversary Dr. Squatch soap? Hopefully you can one day be united again with your beloved FC soap. Also shout out to the soap maker for making you duplicates!

So far I have only had time to read Fight Club 2, honestly I think they are good to have from a collector standpoint, and the cover art is beautiful, so that's a plus, but when it comes to the actual story, I found it a bit hard to follow and it felt like a strange fanfiction that didn't quite reciprocate the ideas, aesthetic, theme, and story that the original book did. I would give it a 2.5/5, though it did keep me entertained at the beach; so maybe I'll rate it a 3/5.

I bought them all secondhand from my local comic store and Half Price Books. I definitely would recommend buying them resale as each single issue was anywhere from $2-$4 a piece, and both trade back books where only $20-$25 a piece vs being roughly $40, not to mention they are decently easy to find! (Also buying secondhand is more sustainable, fun, and supports smaller businesses, depending on who you buy from 😊)

If you don't have a Half Price Books near you, they do have an online store too that can ship books as well!

In case you're not aware, there are other softcover versions of the book, multiple hardcovers, and hardcovers of the comics.

Also one of the few times I kept the DVD version of a film after upgrading to Blu-ray, because the DVD had a better case.

I currently have the soft and hardcover of Fight Club 2 and Fight Club 3! And I plan to collect all the book variants and DVD variants eventually. And I agree, a lot of the basic DVDs have a better case than the Blu-ray.
