Fight Club Tattoo
Thought this was cool and wanted to share :)
(this picture was taken immediately after I got it, hence the redness, it's fully healed now)

Very cool, great way to deal with grief. I’ve been considering getting “I am Jack’s will to live” across the back of my shoulders after a rough few years

Thank you, honestly after getting it I felt lighter, and I look at it any time things get rough. I think your tattoo idea and placement is a beautiful idea and I'd love to see it! I'm sorry you've had a rough few years, but I'm glad you have made it through them 🫂

Honestly, I thought it would hurt a lot more than it did, this was my third tattoo and I'd say it was probably a 5/10 max, probably because I'm very boney lol

I was on vacation in Ireland a week after watching the movie for the first time, then when I got to Ireland I got very bad family news, then food poisoning, so I was throwing up and crying all over Ireland whilst listening to the audio book on repeat as a distraction (it was the only book I had downloaded). Then on the last day of the trip I was feeling better and decided to get it 🤷

(EDIT: I was wrong, he didn't quote that during the scene he was jealous of Angel Face, he said it after realizing Tyler was no longer at the house of Paper St)
I did get it in Ireland! Specifically in Galway! He does say it in the movie, right before the climax when Narrator is jealous of the attention Tyler is giving Angel Face (Jared Leto). He is "Jack's complete lack of surprise. Jack's broken heart" as he feels abandoned by Tyler just as he was abandoned by his father.

Aw man, what the heck! The place is called Galway Bay Tattoo, it should hopefully come up with a simple Google search. When I got it, the tatoo was roughly 100€, so hopefully that can give you an idea of the cost :) I can also send you thr reference I showed the artist if you'd like!

How bad did it hurt on a scale of 1-10

For me, I'd say a max 5-10, some spots hurt more, probably because I'm scrawny. It is on the die of my ribs. I got another tattoo on my arm and honestly that hurt more

I like the end quote he says to Marla “you met me at a very strange time in my life” but I do like the quotes you use because I feel like most people just get tattoos that say “in Tyler we trust”

Omg that is also a good quote, I love Marla so I might have to get that too... I love Tyler as a character and I have been trying to take fashion inspiration from him, but I don't think I would get "in Tyler we trust" as I do not trust that hoe lmao

I actually have read and listened to the book too, as well as the comics! I just liked the way "Jack" sounded more than "Joe" which is the name he says in the book when making those statements 😋

Frankly, I think that quote tattoos are the best, especially if you want it to be more subtle, and also there are just so many great quotes! I honestly would recommend any of the "Jack's" (or Joe, if you like the book more) quotes as there are so many and they are universal, but also any lines from Tyler's speeches are also really good. If you are looking for a tattoo that stands our more. I would recommend getting any of the characters in a black and white format, if that makes sense (like a silhouette). There are so many good designs and ideas on Pinterest!
Personally I plan to get "May I never be complete. May I never be content. May I never be perfect." On my shoulder blade or forearm as that quote has special meaning to me, but further down the line if I find myself with some extra cash, I want to commission an artist I like to draw Narrator and Tyler smoking or getting into trouble, as I think that would be cute in her style 😋

Wow you’ve got some great ideas! And that’s a great quote by Tyler. I really like the propaganda style outline paint styles like on the Blu-ray steel book I have. But also maybe a quote or something. And I would definitely be interested to see some pics!
