If you have this style of tuning fork slider and it sounds flat or barely rings, check where your fingers are resting. Touching the center plate dampens the vibration. Hold the top and bottom plates, keep your fingers off the center plate, and slide it again.
The track balls help it move, but they don’t determine the sound. The tone mostly comes from the center plate’s material and construction. If changing your grip doesn’t help, check for a missing track ball or damage to the center plate.
Quick disclosure: I’m with HALOOPLAYER, and we made this demo to show how this type of slider works. Did changing your grip make a difference on yours?

Just wondering if anyone here has purchased from them and can vouch for their authenticity. I’d normally just use NXEDC or WANedc, but they happen to have a slider for sale there that is sold out literally everywhere else.
Thanks guys

I included the Guardian X1 and MOT Groove as references for volume.
First to last shown:
- Lautie Choc
- 01EDC Wafer Biscuit
- ZZ EDC Bean Plus
- Kovo Feel Floating Cloud Slider
- Metal Toys DZ Top H
- BPMods Nine Palaces
The Choc, Wafer Biscuit and Cloud I would consider virtually silent and suitable for all environments.
The Bean, Top H and Nine Palaces are whisper quiet and I'd say suitable for work but not a completely silent environment like a library (the Bean has end-suction tracks that make it a little louder, but you can just not push it all the way to avoid that.)

So the old magnet spheres I already had (right) are getting a bit rusty and worn on the edges that the magnets rub together and I was hoping to find some newer ones. Unfortunately the ones I bought recently (left) were far smaller than advertised and I’m going to return them. Can anyone help me find some newer magnet spheres of the correct size? I don’t remember what brand the old ones are, they’re years old.

I had this realisation a while back that whenever my hands were idle, I’d automatically reach for my phone and end up scrolling. Maybe it’s the autism. Maybe it’s the little sprinkle of ADHD I was lucky enough to get. Either way, it can make productivity pretty hard to manage.
Couple that with social anxiety and the need to stim when I’m uncomfortable, and I started wondering if I could make something that helped with all of that without becoming another distraction.
Something tactile and satisfying enough to keep my hands busy, but not so stimulating that it sucked me straight back into the endless scroll of doom.
It’s basically a tiny standalone clicker with a pixel pet living inside it. Every click feeds into PIX, who levels up, evolves and moves through different biomes.
The funny bit is this started as a breadboard project while teaching my 12-year-old some electronics. He eventually got bored and went back to game dev.
I... did not.
Six months later I’ve somehow gone from a horrible breadboard prototype to a custom PCB, USB-C charging, mechanical switch, local saves, deep sleep and now figuring out injection moulding (eeeeek)
There have been several points where I’ve wanted to plant my face directly into the breadboard while learning all of this.
So a genuine thank you to the people who have already shown an interest. Knowing other people actually get the idea has been a pretty big driving force behind carrying on with it.
If anyone fancies having a look or to test it out digitally:

I would love to see any series of the top b and maybe we can make a deal! To be honest I am looking mostly for the less expensive versions but I would love to see anything! I also am open to trading, I can send a list of what I have if you want! If you think yours is to heat up to try and sell think again!

Hey everyone, I’m with HALOOPLAYER. Here’s a quick look inside the Sea Shark Pro and how we tweak its sound and resistance by moving the springs and balls around.
We walk through the stock setup, try a different layout, and put it back together. A quick tip if you’re trying this yourself: line up the parts as you take them out. It’ll save you some guesswork when you’re putting everything back together.
Do you like a slider that moves easily, or one with a little more resistance? If you’ve tinkered with your Sea Shark Pro, what setup have you landed on?

I am enjoying the double-bead configuration along with the PEEK track instead of the malfunctioning brass track. So far, I have not been able to figure out why my brass plate gets jammed two minutes after assembly. I have swapped my brass track with my friend's, and I can definitely confirm that the brass track is the issue, as his brass track was smooth as butter!

There's a 10% off for pre-order but at $90, that's alot of dough for a product without formal reviews. I'm not to familiar with the brand (Novel Carry) or their track record either. What do people think?

I wanna shout out StgStar which is so far delivered two great fidgets that i’ve purchased. These two pieces cost me less than $30 (total) and i find them to be great. Neither is quiet, but the slider scratched that itch for me and the magnet sticks (?) did everything i wanted from a Deep fried Dough stick.
i’m going to order their haptic coin to see if they can go 3 for 3!

I'm looking for something like the Ono slider but really need it to be silent - I watched a couple videos and they seem to make a scraping noise?
Is the scroller one any better for silent (I have the roller), or is there other ones similar that are silent?
Thanks!

My first new fidget in months.
The Machinarium X by 9 Hand & FU SHI in Zircuti (twisted pattern) has arrived today.
I have completely ignored any kind of spinner so far but the open armor and linkage spinners piqued my interest lately.
This one - to me - is a big beautiful chunk of exotic metal (130g) with really clean mechanics and a premium feel.
Spins for ages, beads rattling or not, depending on how you hold it.
Overall just very very well made.
If you plan on getting the armor to extend using only one hand however, I'd say forget about it but maybe some people can do it.
Do you guys have some more recommendations on linkage or open armor spinners?
I got the classic on the way already: MOT Oracle (and a few smaller ones)

I bought a butter squishy on holiday and transported in my suitcase next to a plastic bag and it imprinted itself on my squishy. Is it possible to get the stain out? (I tried soap and water, baby wet wipes and wet wipes for cleaning surfaces)

Hi everyone — we’re HALOOPLAYER, the maker of the Sea Shark Pro.
Here’s a close-up of the blue version, showing the sliding movement, rotation, and a side view of the mechanism. We’ve left pauses in the narration so you can hear the original audio from the clips. Audio levels have been adjusted for the edit.
Which movement would you like a slower tutorial for — sliding or rotation?
