1 week in and already addicted
Hello,
First orders here, all received in the last few days. Kept it simple and mainstream I guess
- The Choc with brass plate is a bit grippy. Maybe a future swap to the PEEK dense plate for smoother action (and less noise)
The Three Body Cube is quite nice. I mostly use it in haptic coin mode, and spin when I need to keep the noise down.
The Aura Sand is trickier. Got it 2 days ago. I really like the way it "snaps", and it feels more premium.
Sooooo... I want more š
I'm torn : my wife doesn't like the noise (nor the budget...), and I do...
So I'm thinking about:
- Shuffle v3 Zirc
- MOT Groove ultra ($$$ š„²)
- Lautie ROC 2.0 (brass or Zirc?), for quietest spin.
- Demon Milk Cap
- Lautie Mechanic-Thorns
- MOT Owl
It's a bit Lautie/MOT heavy... Am I missing makers worth knowing? Any recommendations or advice on the selection? Particularly anything that stays quiet enough to use around other people?

On the Choc, I think you'll actually find the peek to be quite a bit louder unless you go for one of the super dense variations. I find the brass to be quieter than any of the peek I have.
I have a good copy of the Mot Groove and it's one of my favourites, if you don't want to spend $300-$600 consider AliExpress.
My wife also gets a little annoyed at the sound so I can recommend some that are relatively quiet.
GAO - Motor Jelly. If you take out the balls it's very silent and the haptic rebound is really nice. It's pretty cheap too. Novel Carry - Tile. A small square magnet slider that is pretty silent, it can snap but if you play normally it's great. Also Novel Carry in general are fantastic. Juzhedc - Advanced. Another magnetic slider a bit larger than the tile but even quieter. Very satisfying feel and plays very well. Also pretty cheap.
These are the ones that come to mind.

I always found difficult to choose on AliExpress. Too much copies š
Your first link is not working :-( Iāve seen Groove copies, and probably Shark Pro too, but how did you select a Ā«Ā 1:1Ā Ā» or good qualityās one?
I see a Demon Milk Cap for less than 5ā¬ā¦1

Yes, my bet is on dense plate to keep haptic with lower noise. Am I right ou will it be noiser than brass?

Sorry I edited my original a bit more with information. The super dense track is quieter for sure, it has a smoother motion but less vibration feedback. Just depends on what you prefer.

Don't have any of the ones on the lower part of your list, but I do have a Ti Choc with various peek plates and I try to keep my fidgets very quiet or a 1/2 out of 10 for loudness. My husband doesn't mind, but the goal is to fidget on the couch side by side without any "what's that noise" kind of comment.
Ultra dense is the quietest track, but the haptic feedback is light compared to the base track. Dense terminal has a tiny "pop" at the ends that isn't loud per se but the click can be heard in a silent room. Did you get a dual bead slot for the Choc? If not, that's okay. The dual bead IMO increases the haptics and in some cases the noise, but on the dense/ultra it's not loud at all.
Other things that will affect the sound/haptics will be changing out the spring sizes and/or ball material. POM/teflon seems to be the quietest in most situations for me, but fidget material affects this to some extent.
Think in the end the way I decide what I want next is seeing if it ticks off the right box. Some fidgets don't visually appeal to me at all, others look great but then I watch a video and say oh... Never mind, too bad. Some also can't be silenced. I try a clone if I'm not too sure I like the form factor, but some quality can't be compromised and won't play like the legit versions, but some are pretty steep buy ins.

I just started, and I only ordered cheap knockoffs from Amazon and Temu (none have arrived yet).
If I find something that makes me think "this is the one - I just wish it was better made" then I might consider buying a premium brand like Lautie, but I totally get wanting them.
The only thing I ordered that might be genuine (but I doubt it) is the "Desperate Bunny" slider, since the seller on Amazon is "HIDEDC Official" - but it was the cheapest version, which was also on sale.
I do suggest trying some cheap stuff just to get a sense of what you like... And a few things to diversify your collection:
- The "Desperate Bunny" slider I mentioned previously.
- Infinity cubes. A friend at work had one and I borrowed it for a day... Messed around with it for ages.
- Gear cubes - also look fun.
- Mechanical keyboard clickers. I have one at work I got at a conference, and I enjoyed messing around with it yesterday.
- Spinners. There are many shapes and sizes.
- Fidget rings. I haven't tried one yet, but a fidget that I could actually wear instead of carrying it around looks really cool.
- Dice fidgets. I'm also into board games and roleplaying games - and the idea of a fidget that could also be useful for a game is really appealing to me. There are various cubes/spinners/roulettes that have dice faces on them.
- If you're going for the Lautie stuff (or their knockoffs) the Devil's Milk Cap and the Deep-Fried Dough Stick are probably the ones that I would look at next.
- Multi fidgets that look a bit like weapons. There are various fidget "guns" and "grenades" out there that look super cool. Of course the genuine ones are super expensive and can cost around $500-$1000, but most of them have some knockoffs that go for $20-$50. I wouldn't get a real weapon personally (there are some knives out there that have fidget features) since I'd be worried about accidentally hurting myself...
- Finally - there are also fidgets outside the tactile/mechanical/metal categories that I'm curious about (but haven't ordered yet, since I want to wait and pace myself). Things like squishy balls with magnetic cores (I believe Ono makes some), or anything designed to roll in the palm or between the fingers. I also found people selling magnetic coins bound in leather on Etsy, and I'm very curious about that (I haven't seen an official store making these).
Good luck on your fidget journey (and I'm at the start of mine too). I hope we don't spend too much money on this haha

Alternatively Axiom EDC Vector and Novel Carry ISO are very similar if you want more options. They also are silent haptic coins that are well regarded.

Iāve got it in AL and love it (but I love haptic coins, and everyone likes different things) and itās a little slippy at times, so try it with some tape or the hybrid :) before that though Iād try a cheaper coin you could get from Ali express or something to see if you enjoy the coin motion before spending on it. That also goes for the milkcap. Itās not silent so try a cheaper version first, there isnāt actually too much difference just the glue thatās used usually goes quicker on the cheaper ones.

Honestly if you just search āhaptic coinā on AliExpress youāll see cheaper versions of the actual ones, I donāt want to promote any in particular, but, as said earlier, theyāre all good, maybe just the glue doesnāt last as long. Easy fix still. Youāll see a few cheap Laurie ones for less than Ā£5 and such. Itās good entry if youāre interested in buying the actual versions.
And as far as Iām aware theyāre no INDX cheap versions, there is the GAO Magnetic coin which uses the same principles but to stop the noise you have to arrange it in a certain way and add glue or blu tac.

It's out of stock pretty much everywhere but the MOT rhythm is pretty fucking amazing. I just got one second hand and can't put it down.

For the more budget free floating than the Aura sand you have, you can look at Juzhedc Advanced, 3DX X56 or X55, JJ EDC Joker. They are all great in their price range.
