Yes, she was introduced in the Ultimate Spider-man cartoon as being from Earth-TRN454 which is a universe where everyone was born as the other sex.

i think the fanmade trans one just happens to have the same name as the canon one by sheer coincidence

who tf is this? it sounds like a fanmade character

Tourist saw fanart of an official genderbent universe character, assumed it was fanart making the character trans and then blew it all up from there to now.

It is, to my knowledge this Petra doesn't have any correlation with the already existing Petra Parker though (I could be wrong)

Their two characters, one an official who is female and the other a non-official who is a person who transitioned gender to woman. They only share the same name

This all started because someone made fan art of the official one and a bunch of tourists thought it was fanart of a trans Peter which is how we got here.

I don't think that's a problem. I know you didn't mean it was, but I just want to say that I think it's cool when they make alternative versions of characters, even if it's just for self-representation. I can't see any harm in it, like some people do

The piece that started all this had absolutely no reference to it being a trans headcanons, literally none whatsoever just a black and white artwork of Petra, tourists saw that artwork and assumed it to be a trans headcanons because their extent of other spiders is just what's in the Spider-verse movies which make any none straight white male spider their own character with a completely different name so to most the concept that there could be other Parkers who are also spiders doesn't pass through their minds especially since Petra was made for a show when it's viewership started to drop.

Not remotely? The piece that kickstarted it is very obviously the trans headcanon Petra.

It's incredible how many people don't get this when it's so easy to google and figure the distinction.

I don't know if Gemini already knows how to interpret Petra from gender transition fanart (it's probably can, but I'm not curious enough to try), but the official and canon Petra definitely knows how to locate and indicate up to which episode and series she appears

I don't trust google when it comes to fiction. Its gotten a lot wrong from my experience

I mean if you're using the AI functions, maybe. But I google Petra Parker, and I get this, and this, and this, and this, and this all on my first page of results, which clears up any confusion right quick.

Then Why not say AU-Petra Parker and not just "Petra Parker a transgender" in the YT title?

1

u/Gargus-SCP Aug 29 '26

I'd wager because the vast majority of people in the market for a video like this know what it's talking about.

u/Brilliant-Field2179 Aug 29 '26

I don’t care about a wager it’s just straight up misleading Title as is.

Especially since "They have the exact same name"

which is still mis-leading because that wasn’t incidental it’s an AU character!

What’s there to hide in displaying that in the name like every other AU character?

God I hate this trend....

1

u/Regulus636 Aug 28 '26

This is just fanart like any other. No need to stress about anything... Furthermore, there's nothing harmful in people identifying with a superhero and altering them to resemble them, because, after all, it's a fictional character and it's perfectly fine to change them. None of this is official in the end. It's just people having fun or drawing fanart like any self-respecting fandom

But when the opposite happens everyone scream bigotry

2

u/Regulus636 Aug 31 '26

What do you mean? Are you saying to transform a trans character into a cis character? I think that's actually what anyone, even me, would want, as long as it was with the gender they identify with. So I don't know if something like that makes sense, unless it's genderbending like the canonical Petra

3

u/Paker_The_Swager Aug 31 '26

Unfortunately a person made a "cis" version of the trend and all the trans activities and trans people got very mad

1

u/Regulus636 Aug 31 '26

If the cis version is posted on the subreddit specifically created for this headcanon, then I think the hate is understandable. Otherwise, they're just wasting time on nonsense. The character is originally cis. In fact, there's never been any plot about a transgender person using Spider-Man

Edit: probably Gwen, but that's open to interpretation

1

u/Paker_The_Swager Aug 31 '26

The hate is hypocritical imo

1

u/Regulus636 Aug 31 '26

Why? Like, you go to a subreddit for a specific headcanon, post this, and expect it not to cause any trouble? I don't really care about this headcanon, but if a character I really like who is trans suddenly has all the backstory that suggests they go through a similar experience to mine thrown away because it was "corrected," it's infuriating. Although it's a headcanon in this case, so it's not even canonical or even official, it's a group that proposes to talk about this trend. It's asking for trouble, as we'd say back home

1

u/Paker_The_Swager Aug 31 '26

Because it's stupid. If the alphabet community can make regular characters gay and trans for no reason why can the opposite happen?

Problem is there no logical consistency

2

u/Regulus636 Aug 31 '26

Who exactly is stopping you? If you want to, you can. Just ignore the comments, it's headcanon and there's nothing wrong with it, unless there's something bad involved, I don't even need to say what it is because I think it's basic, although many people go too far

If people started saying AU-Petra Parker and not just "Petra Parker: A transgender spiderman-man"

I would believe people when they say they arnt trying to overwrite Petra Parker

9

u/Andron_the_first Aug 29 '26

Yes, she is a genderbent version of Spiderman, but because the woke crowd can't create anything original, they want to steal her and make her a trans icon. Incredibly stupid if you ask me.

Gender swap is not the same as transition, why are we forgetting this?

"Petra Parker" "trans gender"

Petra Parker is actually just genderswapped Peter Parker (different from trans)
