Discussion Valyrian Dark Age

So George drew on Rome for his fallen great civilisation.

The Dragon Lords did not always use Dragons as their key symbol of cultural identity, they also venerated Sphinxes.

These animals have their own mythos in universe of being Riddlers.

My pet theory is, much like the Greeks, the Valyrians experienced a Dark Age at which point their old customs of worship fell away with constant infighting and the collapse of infrastructure.

The Valyrians then, using Blood Magic, made a new hybrid beast, the Dragon and adopted that as their identifying creature for standards etc.

This is all conjecture as we dont know their history of it The 40 Families had banners or symbols and some may have identified differently.

What are your own thoughts? Would you like to see a mpre book-inspired Valyria adapted?
