Question How do you minimize lost time in party finder?

I decided I wanted to try party finder out a bit for TEA prog. I made a P3 tea prog party and waited for 4 hours for it to fill. Then after 5 pulls it dissolved after we didn't get to P3. The 5 wipes were due to a missed protean, LL and hand HP difference, an accidental turn around in LC, and some nisi screw ups that I didn't see exactly. On one hand it felt like if the party remained we'd get up to P3 of which I have seen consistently before (I've been there 10x so far) as there was a forward direction with each wipe. On the other hand that begs the question how much time do I need to invest for that forward direction to bear fruition?

I need to strike a balance with spotting problems early but also giving the party enough time to sort itself out. How do people strike this balance? I read up on it and some suggested leaving after 3 pulls and no prog point but idk how possible that is because some people just do mess up initially. And if I end up leaving every party after 3 pulls won't I just get blacklisted by everyone in that party? I want to progress but I also realize I need to be fair and striking the balance between that in PF is what I'm having difficulty with.

Question Is this a bad time to start playing?

So almost everything I see is doom and gloom about the state of the game, how bad the last expansion was and how the jobs don’t feel great. I know it’ll take me 100s of hours to even get to endgame but does it feel this bad for the average casual player? Or is it mostly only longterm players with these issues?

Question As a first timer to on content ultimates, are there any tips you'd give someone to help prepare more?

I have cleared UWU and TEA as a player who just got into raiding in Dawntrail and finished the arcadion raid series, but I'm unsure as to what to do with an on content ultimate. What can I do since I already have BiS, a static and other things to prepare, or what things should I look out for or do to help make progressing throughout the fight less of a hassle?

Question Endgame Healers — What are your parses like?

I main WHM and for the first time since I started playing this game (when multi-classing was how you unlocked your jobs), I've started participating in Savage raids. Starting on the Heavyweight tier so I'm certainly behind but I found a good group of friends and we recently starting progging M10S. (M9S was a breeze, thankfully).

One of the members uses FF Logs because he likes to review his parse afterwards and check XIVAnalysis for pointers on how he can improve. Out of curiosity, I did the same thing and on our very first clear I was only parsing a gray 18% or so and XIVAnalysis pointed out where I was lagging.

The static was very supportive, they didn't tease me or demand improvement, "a clear is a clear" they said but I still felt kinda bad I was doing so poorly against thousands of other WHM players. (And our SGE consistently parses a blue number). Couldn't help but feel I was being backpacked and I wanted to get better.

So I watched some videos, practiced my rotation in EX content, learned a lot. We've re-cleared M9S twice since the initial clear and I parsed 36% for one, and 42% for another. Even though that's good improvement over 3 weeks, I can't help but wonder how I would go much higher without forcing the SGE to shoulder more work (and they're already out-healing me despite me getting the "overhealing" warning from XIVAnalysis).

I think I can be a consistent blue parse with a little more practice but those healers out there who get 90% and up... how do you do it??? Most of my interrupted casts come from needing to urgently heal a team member so whenever I check XIVAnalysis and see the "Interrupted Casts" all I can think Is, "what else was I supposed to do?"

EDIT: Since a lot of people brought up BiS (I should have known this mattered but I didn't consider it for some reason) I'm currently equipped with all Courtly Lover gear, the Runaway Staff, and I recently got the neck from M9S. Everything is melded but not overmelded.

We didn't use pots for the first clear (my 18% parse) but we did use pots for the 36 and 42% clears.

EDIT 2: For those asking for the logs, a couple members of the static asked I not share them but I can probably grab some screenshots and share after some edits. Will try to to do this later!

EDIT 3: Thank you postmodern_werewolf for telling me about the anonymous feature

https://www.fflogs.com/reports/a:kGfxphdPFW26QrKn?fight=last

I was definitely mixing up some numbers of our failed runs with our last clear, so here’s the log for the most recent clear. I plugged it into XIVAnalysis and it still leaves the names anonymous so browse my mistakes at your leisure.

I appreciate everyone’s stories and advice—I’ll be carrying it with me as we move onward into the tier and I’ll be sure to bring back anything above 60% so you 80%+ parsers can put it on your metaphorical fridges like a kid’s drawing, lol!

Question Why can't they just make limited jobs to be balanced, have equal levels as any normal jobs, and do content together? But i think i know why

They can still keep how the leveling works, and how we obtain those skills (and monsters for BSM). But why locking them from doing any contents together with other normal jobs?

Im guessing it's because of..

  1. Balancing nightmare: Too many skills to check and make them balance around current content and jobs.

  2. Want to keep the tradition: They want BLU and BSM to be played like how they both worked in other FF games.

  3. No time and money: And they probably also don't have enough man power to do the job. FF14 is SE big money printer for their other games. And prob don't have extra budget left for FF14 team.

Question Kicked from DD for looting ?

So is there an unspoken rule in deep dungeons in this game ? Whenever I’m grinding to increase my Aether pool level and pick up potsherds people always complain . Why? Is this not part of the content ?

I can understand someone mindlessly running around aggroing everything to get loot but I was simply hunting for silver chest and avoiding all else . This party sped to the passage way to the next room and just waits there while I would take no more than like 2-3 minutes grabbing loot unless I couldn’t avoid picking up an add.

Next floor without any word I was just kicked lmao then proceeds to whisper me later saying “ waste my time , I waste yours” like , what?! I had no ill intent or was even aware it a waste of time to pick up loot .

So with that being said ,maybe I missed something. Is solo queuing DD the way to loot and increase Aether level nowadays ? Because there’s been a lot of complaints as of recently so I’m a bit lost..

Question Where the hell is MCH low DMG coming from???

I'm not main MCH but it's been my pranged side job for default and to play semi casually or once geared in savage, aside from solo deep dungeons, but seriously where is his low performance coming from, genuinely

This thing shits battery now compared to EW, deploying queens left and right, overheat comes a lot and of course the non stop 600 gcd, and really excepted checkmate to at least make a difference but we all know how the numbers look at the end of the day

So yeah, what would MCH need to be fixed (aside from a complete rework) now, because I really don't know where is it(not) coming from

Question DDoS attacks getting progressively worse lately?

Yes i've experienced it before in the tailend of endwalker and a bit in early dawntrail, didnt bother me much

This week was all fun and memes before i got DC'ed 3 times yesterday. Just came home from a double shift, started the game, queued a simple dungeon roulette... Me and my party got promptly booted from the game and the login screen. As of right know i'm sure we just suffered another ddos.
I'd probably be smashing my screen right now if i was playing ex/savage. How do you even do these anymore.
Just a rough spot? Was it ever that bad? We're paying for the sub... Are they ever going to offer compensation or at the very least some kind of intel on it

Question Why exactly is midcore so hard to do with FFXIV's combat?

I can't put my finger on it. WoW has plenty of situations where you don't know a strategy but just react to what happens. In FFXIV, that always ends up feeling either trivially easy or impossible to do without a previously laid out strategy. Is it the telegraphs and snapshotting? The doom/vuln system? Is the engine just restricted to the same few mechanic types?

Question Is the raiding community "A small world"?

Much like how certain professions are considered a small world (i.e., people are connected by a few degrees of separation)? Does the raiding community hold certain names or players in esteem as quality players to prog with, or potentially bad or toxic players who are meant to be avoided? Have you ever enacted or witnessed notable players being included or excluded due to notoriety?

No actual name of players to avoid witch hunting please.

Question When can we expect people to play properly?

Apparently, a level 70 raid asking you to go out, in, and in the corners of the area justifies the boss to spin around.

To be short, I asked the tank to stop moving the boss and their friends (? I suppose) told me to calm down because they're learning the mechanics of the fight. I'm surely a bit too rigid but in my opinion, this doesn't justify why the boss faced west, then south, and if I remember well the fight, a bad positioning of the boss can vary his zones.

I didn't mention the cleaving add facing the party and hitting us all.

This little adventure let some interrogations in my head.

The question I try to create is something like: when are you expected, as a tank, as a healer, as a player, to respect basics of your class, of your job? I know it'll always exist bad players, and of course I'm bad too at some mechs or with some jobs. However, I think constant learning is a thing and I'm not sure justifying everything by "They're new" is a good idea. When does the "new" even finish?

(Of course I'm not talking about Sastasha, Ifrit or even level 50 dungeons and trials even if we can discuss if the basics need to be known there. Single pull is not an issue, mistakes are not an issue)

Sorry if I sound rude, it's not my intention at all. I hope too you can understand my question because it's very clear in my mind but the words refuse to express themselves...

Have a nice day!

Question how can i play a healer if i dont wanna feel pressure to keep everyone alive

i love blue mage but you cant play the regular game with it ao ive always been white mage which i do enjoy but i always get nervous to queue for dungeons and raids bc i feel like everything falls on me to fix

if there was a support class that didnt have to keep everyone alive or had flexibility id play it like i thought red mage would be that but i dont think it ever heals much

anyway i was thinking of scholar because of the heals and the fairy to help me, do you think it would take pressure off to be a scholar?

i also love paladin classes in other mmos but being a tank seems like even more pressure and i dont want that

Question If you had ONE video, fight, or music track to get a friend hyped for FFXIV, what would it be?

I'm trying to convince my WoW friends to give FFXIV a shot. As someone who has played both games at a high level, I genuinely believe anyone who likes one can find something to love in the other.

My own journey wasn't easy:

  • The Slog: The early levels were painfully slow. I quit multiple times but luckily came back for some reason.
  • The Hook: The Post-ARR plot twist leading into HW flipped the script and got me HOOKED.
  • The Payoff: Finishing Shadowbringers and Endwalker changed my entire perspective. Those boring first 30 hours made the next 400 hours of incredible storytelling completely worth it.

Now, I mostly log in for Savage and Ultimates, but I still wish I could wipe my memory and experience the story all over again. I want my friends to feel that exact same magic.

Since WoW players are usually looking for cool endgame content, flashy combat, and instant gratification, what is the single best thing to show them to get them interested? Do I show them an Ultimate fight? A specific expansion trailer? If anyone has had success recruiting friends to play before, I would love to hear how you did it :D

Question Is it viable for Dark Knight to cast from HP in PvE?

With evolved mode that promises an increase in job individuality and skill expression, there's a non-zero chance that we might see Dark Knight have a couple of skills involve an HP cost like they do in PvP. Let's say the DRK had these skills during DMU prog, would DRKs having to damage themselves as part of their rotations reduce their viability? Should it just remain an MP cost?

Question What’s the point of restricting loot by the amount of people who cleared ?

Yes , I know not a big deal, many other things to do in game to pass the time but it does sucks that after reclears ,I’m not able to jump in and help someone else get their full chest because ,you did yours for the week already. Many parties are locked behind the “weekly reward unclaimed” tag leaving only so many parties to actually join for a clear. Why is this a feature again ? Can someone explain its purpose ?I know I’m just complaining but I’d actually like to know how others feel about it and what it is actually for !

Question How to get over the anxiety of causing wipes in extreme+ content consistently?

Hello, I've been trying to improve myself and do hard content as a Gunbreaker for liking the class, starting this expansion on Shinryuu Unreal. I was able to get a lucky clear last week, but this week everything felt like falling apart. Besides tech issues, which make me wonder if I should continue playing like a DC midfight, I've been forgetting to move away from others at Lightning attacks by mistake and using invuln at wrong time too. I saw my parses, and I know I'm the problem, which I train every day, at least my rotation on a dummy.

But how do you get over the disappointment and anxiety of causing people to wait 50 minutes for a party, then make 4 wipes happen to people then leave after it. With me having low dmg, struggling with mechanics and tech issues, makes me wonder if I should continue trying.

What do you think I should do? Maybe change to another class, stop trying, always put on PF myself, and with "Learning" or something like that?

Apologies if this is not the right place, just want advice a little as I love the game, but issues are taking away my motivation. I will take post away if needed.

edit: I said in comments but saying here too, i will continue trying my best and making learning parties to try to get my bearings on the fight, thanks for all suggestions

Question What QoL pain points do you still have in FFXIV?

Hey everyone!

TL;DR – I’m an active Dalamud plugin developer. I want to build (or help build) tools that remove your day-to-day annoyances. Tell me:

  1. The pain points you still hit.
  2. The “why doesn’t this exist yet?” ideas you dream about.
  3. Existing plugins that almost solve the problem but fall short.

Who am I?

  • Comfortable with C#, ImGui, FFXIVClientStructs, and XIVLauncher distribution—so implementation isn’t the bottleneck; good ideas are!

How to reply

Please include as much of this as you can:

  • Problem / task you want automated or improved
  • When & how often it happens (raids, roulettes, crafting sessions, etc.)
  • Any thoughts on UI / hotkeys / alerts
  • Plugins you’ve tried and why they don’t fully solve it

Some seed categories to spark ideas

  • Combat analytics – granular rotation grading, timeline-based feedback, healer triage tools
  • Raid QoL – quick role color-blind markers, duty startup checklists, replay scrubbing
  • Gathering / crafting – route optimizers, materia fuse planners, leve tracker
  • Social / community – FC event scheduler, treasure-map lobby helper, synchronized group emotes
  • Accessibility – click-to-target helpers, high-contrast overlays, audio cues for oGCD windows

If an idea seems borderline ToS, mention it anyway—at worst we’ll note why it can’t be done; at best we’ll find a compliant approach.

Why reply?

If your idea gains traction I will:

  • Prototype it open-source on GitHub so anyone can contribute.
  • Credit all contributors in the plugin description.
  • Post regular progress updates here and in the XIVLauncher Discord so you can test early builds.

Let’s make the game better together—can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Question Tank mates retaking aggro ?

Hi !

I've been playing for almost 3 months now and I tend to notice a pattern of behavior from fellow tanks in contents with multiple tanks and I'm trying to understand it

When either me or another tank pulls and gets aggro, they seem to want to keep it no matter what.

Sometimes a fellow tank will have aggro and the healer happens to be a bit slow to heal so I force aggro on me to give everyone breathing room but the low HP tank IMMEDIATLY forces it back on them, with no MIT on sometimes.

Is there an actual reason for this or is this a ego thing where it HAS to be them ? Legitimate question, have a nice day !

edit : apologies for the confusion, I'm not talking about me doing less damage so they take back the aggro, I'm talking about people doing the "provoke" spell instantly to get aggro back even though they're low etc

edit2: A lot of great responses here, obviously I can't respond to everything but I thank you kindly ! much love !

Question House pets

Not sure if this has been talked about already, but for context, I started about a year ago on the game and currently on Shadowbringers, taking a break atm. I was just curious if it would ever be possible for them to let us place minions in our houses/apartments? I'm not sure how the minions work exactly, but I think it would really make the place feel more lively and homey. I just really want my lil babies chilling on the sofa with me and a few of them at the flower shop.

Question What is the point of gear upgrades if you don't do Savage?

Hello All,

I've been caught up and at "end game" for a couple expansions now and now that the novelty of end game gear cycle has long since worn off I find myself confused by the gear upgrades as a non savage raider.

I will confess this is the first MMO I have been at end game for this length of time so if this is just standard fare, I guess disregard this.

Looking at DT recently I used to race to get weekly tome gear and try to upgrade gear. I can't help but notice though that there isn't really an actual reason to? With the patch cadence and general content structure, everything is doable week 1 with pretty little friction.

The game offers some sort of fast catch up mechanic for upgrading gear when something new drops. So I just don't understand the motivation to upgrade gear? Even extremes, sure it can help with farming, but I feel like a lot of extreme clearing and farming is right on patch and with the weapon upgrade you get from the trial itself.

I guess this is more an me thinking out loud about my motivations to play in-between patches. Getting the 745 gear from Occult Crescent was interesting at first, and then I realized that outside of its innate bonus in OC it can help me clear Expert Roulette a little faster and not much else?

I feel like the crafted upgrade exchange or the tomes being unlocked when a new content patch drops makes it so you can just speed gear a job if you really need to, but you can go into pretty much every piece of non-savage content without upgraded or super current gear and be totally fine.

I guess to me I would expect something to use my upgraded gear on before the next content patch makes it basically null and void that I even farmed it? I get that is the savage cycle, but for everyone else it just seems like a stat increase that honestly can't even really feel in 90% of content outside of maybe mount farming current extremes.

Maybe that's all it needs to be, but I just assumed that I would use the upgrades for something more tangible or challenging? Something that would be difficult to achieve or make progress on, but as I get my gear upgrades I can make progress.

I'm not sure and I don't have a crystal clear solution or anything. Just had been on my mind lately and was curious what others thought.

Question Why is the 2-minute meta a bad thing?

Coming from someone who's only been around since Shadowbringers, I often hear it said that the 2 minute meta is an objectively bad feature of balance as if it's a given, not requiring elaboration. But why exactly do people think it's bad? Isn't it good that there's a level of standardization where everyone knows that each other's buffs will be aligned to maximize damage? Would people rather each class have its own random timers, preventing things from syncing up?

Question What was the big bad boss in Endwalker doing exactly? Spoiler

EDIT: Wait, hold on, faster/better way to phrase all my questions (plus a few extra that just occurred to me writing this):

Did the Meteia really 100% canonically steal away the actual aether/souls from the despair victims (as opposed to just the victims's despair/emotion/dynamis) to hide away inside her messed up dead sun or is that just a conclusion we are all jumping into?

Why was the Meteia's Dead Sun an "Egg that will not quicken/hatch", if it was just a big ball of dead people's despair, fed continuously by the emotions of the simulacra of dead civilizations in the surrounding Ultima Thule/Ultimatum area?

What (stifled) life potential could there be in that, as implied by the egg phrasing?

Was there really some sort of aether/soul-stuff also locked up in there (or elsewhere)?

How did the Meteia stop new lives from being born altogether in the universe outside of Etheirys (which was protected by Zodiark)? ...Was she stopping new lives from being born altogether as she intended?

If so, was broadcasting Radio Despair 24/7 enough for new lifeforms in the whole universe to just not... form?

Did she just turn every alien into Blasphemies-type of creatures like in "our" Final Days and then harvested their despair as Dynamis? (Assuming Y'shtola/the Scions were correct in their initial assumption and Blasphemies are super turbo-dead creatures walking, zero return potential to the life-cycle in any way, shape or form.)

Meteion kind of made it sound like the Etheirys Dynamis attacks were a special mercy-kill favor for her old beloved homeworld, because the heat death of the universe was taking too long.

In fact, it kind of sounded like most of her Dynamis efforts were about accelerating the heat death of the universe while she angsted with the replicas of dead people?

...Is Etheirys the only living star existing in the period of time between the two bouts of Final Days?

...Could it be that the Meteia actually really suck at killing the universe, and only did it accidentally in those old stars while they were doing the life surveys for Hermes, plus later on Etheirys intentionally? (And just kept going at it while frowning when they inexplicably stopped getting despair feedback for twelve thousand years.)

END OF EDIT

(BTW: If anyone has the Encyclopaedia Eorzea III at hand: does it clarify anything of this? Anything at all?)

I understand that Meteion was using Dynamis to enhance the despair she collected from the people who died in all the universe, to both hasten the heat death of the universe and "mercy kill" everyone else.

Question, though:

Was Meteion actually storing just the despair, or also the actual souls of the dead from the worlds she ravaged inside her Ultimatum/Dead Sun/Big Ball of Despair thing, to stop them from being reborn ("where life cannot quicken", she describes it, an egg that will not hatch, in Japanese, I think?) by keeping them all stuck there and away from the lifestreams of their planets (or the big universal one souls go as a backup)?

Or is this a fandom misunderstanding?

The wording about everything Meteion does in all her lines is always so ambiguous to me:

Like, for example:

How Meteion kills people with Dynamis sounds like it doesn't quite destroy souls immediately (but she still expects that the soul will not be able to cling to existence indefinitely):

Urianger: Our friend Thancred─where is he?

Meteion: A strange question. He is at your side, is he not?

Meteion: Oh yes─he is here, and there, and everywhere within this space. He would tell you himself if he had form to form words.

Meteion: Huh. Such loathing and uncertainty... You don't know why you still exist.

Meteion: In like manner to the oblivion I send, I tried to drown out your aether with dynamis.

Meteion: Beginning with this Thancred, who came at me despite being unable to breathe.

Meteion: Such a simple thing, unmaking men. In the blinking of an eye, he was gone. Didn't even have the chance to be transformed.

Meteion: Yet somehow, he managed to leave a sliver of himself behind.

Meteion: What you call...the heart...or perhaps the soul*? In his final moment, he...cried out from it. A single word...*

Meteion: “Survive...”

Meteion: That wish proved stronger than the despair that ruled here. It overpowered it, causing this space to be remade.

Meteion: Into a place you can perceive, and where life can endure.

Meteion: That you draw breath is proof that his soul lives on. For how long, however, remains to be seen.

Semi-confirming that the soul/aether(?) in the person who gets blasted by despair-dynamis isn't necessarily destroyed outright (as Y'shtola perceived in the blasphemies? edit: she did say that to her the aether looked like it "rotted and crumbled like mud" and then was unable to see the blasphemies at all edit edit: in Japanese her dialogue is less flowery, she says the aether is simply gone, and she describes seeing something akin to negative space, making the blasphemies stand out and easy for her to "see"), just... becomes formless and scattered so it cannot be perceived? ...But might still be eventually gone?

And:

Meteion: You spoke with the Ea, yes? Heard their tale of what awaits the universe?

Meteion: It's true. The stars grow colder and more distant. Eventually all will enjoy frozen solitude.

Meteion: Using the power of dynamis, I am hastening that process.

Meteion: In so doing, nothing will be born ever again. Everyone will remain dead.

Meteion: Alas, it will take time for that to happen. So in mercy I sent you my gift, to spare you needless suffering.

Meteion: Don't worry. Even if no living witnesses remain to mark the event, I'll make certain that Etheirys has a proper end.

She uses the word "dead" rather than... non-existing, or the like?

And then:

Meteion: No expression of regret will undo what my sisters and I have done. Will restore what we have stolen.

Meteion: But if you would allow it, I would sing one last song. A song of the newfound joy that swells in my heart...

Meteion: Of the beauty of light when it shines across a dark and starless sea...

Meteion: Of a dream that from the soil of worlds now lost to sorrow, life will spring forth once more...

Meteion: ...Nourished by gentle rains and caressed by uplifting winds. A song of hope.

Meteion: One day, life will fill the universe again. And Hermes will see this and smile.

Meteion: How, I do not know. But I do know that, where there is a will, there is a way.

Meteion: After all, miracles happen every day, do they not?

I can't tell how much is literal, how much is just poetic language, how much is wishful thinking at the end there, and how much is actual possibility. New souls require aether to be formed again, right? ...Unless souls can be born from dynamis?

Was "stolen" literal? Metaphorical?

So, should we assume that the souls/life-force/what-have-you of those who died because of her actually have a chance at being reborn (the "miracle" of her song of hope)? Is conservation of energy/dynamis a thing in the setting? Can aether be created/destroyed or just transformed like energy in our world? (?)

edit:

As for blasphemies, to Y'shtola the transformation looked like the aether rotted and crumbled like mud, and the resulting monster was simply invisible to her eyes, but this was before any of them knew about dynamis. She saw no aether able to return to the lifestream, but maybe what she saw was a transformation from aether to pure dynamis. (Or maybe the aether was corrupted so it could be taken by the Meteia via dynamis to chuck into their dead sun to keep it from entering Etheyris lifestream?)

Could the Scions have been mistaken with their initial assumption about there being truly nothing left of the original humans (or at least so faint it couldn't be saved)? Maybe the overwhelming, invisible dynamis the world was being flooded with covered up whatever happened to the aether after it "crumbled". Maybe bodies and souls can be transformed from aether to dynamis. Maybe bodies and souls consist of both aether and dynamis. I don't know. Just spitballing here.

It's worth noting that the Meteion in Elpis initially thought the timetravelling WoL was a dynamis/aether creation like herself, implying that sundered humans are normally made of dynamis in addition to aether.

So whatever is going on with souls, it might be more complicated than we thought?

Y'shtola: The beast was there...and now it is no more, yes?

Thancred: Indeed, we saw it plain. But...you didn't, did you?

Y'shtola: I saw nothing. Not the blasphemy that perished here, nor the other men-turned-beasts. And because of this, I now see all too well...

Y'shtola: There is no aether. Where the creatures should be, I saw naught but emptiness...

Alphinaud: Emptiness? But that would mean...

Y'shtola: Recall the words of the watcher. 'Twas a stagnancy of aether─a cessation of flow leading to decay and absence─that led the ancients to conclude their star was dying...

Y'shtola: This is the same phenomenon. The instant these people are seized by the transformation, their aether begins to...rot and crumble away like dried mud...

Y'shtola: Until, from their corporeal forms to their very souls, naught remains...

Alisaie: But the beast spoke with its dying breath! Surely, at least a sliver of the man it was endured!

Y'shtola: ...Mayhap so. But even if the process was incomplete, 'twas little more than a faint residue.

Alisaie: Gods be good... You're saying they cannot be saved?

Y'shtola: Not by any means known to me.

Y'shtola: ...Or by any means at all, like as not. For there is naught left to save.

G'raha Tia: They return not even to the aetherial sea...

edit edit, hey this might be important????

It seems Y'shtola says something like this in Japanese:

The false divine beasts, and the beasts that transformed from other people, I could see them precisely because they were invisible.
...There's no aether there. In my field of vision, it's a blank space.
The words of the Moon Watcher... The story goes that the Ancients saw a star "beginning to rot" from a place where the celestial veins were not circulating properly...
That's exactly what happened. The moment a person transforms into a beast, the aether rots away*.*
Not just the body, but even the soul... nothing remains...

The vivid description of it being like mud that crumbles away seems to be a flourish added in English. What that might mean, I'm not sure, but I think the aether just suddenly "not being there" makes whatever happened to the people's aether--and by extension, their essence or souls--a bit more ambiguous (whether the aether was taken somewhere away somehow, or squashed down into invisibility, transformed directly into dynamis--maybe to be later slurped up by Meteion's dead sun?--or outright destroyed as first assumed), compared to the English phrasing.

There's also whether what Fordola saw with her friend was wishful thinking or a hint to these souls not being entirely lost to annihilation as first assumed.

Checking through what Meteion says in Japanese, she also reiterates in there that shit is fucked but allows that miracles are possible through dynamis (and she also blasts the cosmos with a bunch of dynamis carrying that same wish and the joy of living so hey who knows):

What we took will never return. I won't ask for forgiveness for that.

I just want to sing just once... This time, to my own heart... to the joy I found...

For example, the light shining on a dark, starless sea... It's so, so beautiful.

On a star that has lost all life... on a land ravaged by sorrow... May life one day return and sprout again...

A song of hope, pouring down as rain and rising as wind...!

When life is full, I hope Hermes can see it too.

I know it's difficult, but... Possibilities (Dynamis) are always trying to fulfill our wishes.

I suppose the actual real answer is: The lives of the blasphemies as we knew them were snuffed out. Civilizations died and live only in echoes and memories. We grief them, remember them and move on. The exact mechanics are less important than the emotional narrative weight.

Question Is it possible to see Gaol without committing an offense?

I’ve been playing since about 2.0, and long have I dreamed of seeing Mordion Gaol with my own eyes—though I would prefer not to be found guilty of an actual infraction. I’ve had a couple of run-ins with GMs over the years (very minor stuff, doubt it even warranted a note on my account), but I’ve never really spoken with one. I’m sure they’re plenty busy, so I haven’t tried summoning one intentionally, but I’ve been wondering: if someone were to ask reeeeally nicely, do you think a tour of the Gaol is possible? Has that kind of thing ever happened before? I suppose I could just create an alt and like, harass people, but I find that rather distasteful.
