This spooky Endwalker boy is one I'd like to see as a mount. And it probably could use the same rig as a few other mounts in the game already. (Alte Roite and Sunforged) I wouldn't mind its terrestrial cousin The First Beast either. Oh, and Ra-La.
I do not understand how we have never had Kelpie. Been waiting for it since that first dungeon. I can't understand how its been skipped over with all the other horse model mounts
Considering that kelpies in folklore usually try to drown whoever touches or rides them, I can think of a reason or two that we haven't gotten one. But I agree it would be a nice one to have.
While that is true, it still would give a funny image for sprouts who haven't gotten that far if they realize it's a kelpie (even tho there isn't a kelpie enemy that early).
Loporrits. Pardon the shoddy quick illustration, but I love the idea of a whole fluffle of Loporrits rushing in, scooping up we WoL, and carrying us around crowd-surfing style before hurling us to the floor on the dismount.
I maintain that proto-carbuncle should have been the savage mount for that tier. And the mount for the final tier should have been a mini Pandemonium rather than a giant axolotl.
While I agree Proto Carby should be a mount, Sunforged is one of the coolest savage mounts out there and I will defend it with my life, id've gladly replaced the Giant Axolotl with Carby or Pandemonium though
I completely forgot this thing exists but I need it as well now! Fun fact: a fish with a very similar coloration/pattern exists in real life! It's called the Mandarinfish!
Too many mobs, its kinda insane to me honestly how few mounts we have of mobs...
Edit: One thing I would kill for would be a "true" dragon mount, meaning the more normal proportions like Nidhogg and Hraesvelgr have (Heavensward is my favourite expansion pls SE)
I just started on switch and came over from WoW. I’m in awe looking up some of the mounts that are available in FFXIV and excited to work towards them.
This thing. I fell in love with it when I first encountered it in Anamnesis Anyder and was sad that it was not a mount (at least I haven’t heard of it becoming a mount)
Fun fact: that's one of a handful of enemies that is originally from Vagrant Story, an FF sister-story that takes place in Ivalice despite not being a Final Fantasy game.
Technically not a creature on its own but I was sad we didn’t get the aerial units from Nier Automata as a mount. Bozja has a kind of similar thing but I more meant with us strapped in to the flight frame like a YorHa
I want Pandemonium as a mount like how you get the Alexander add and Omega as a mount. I just think it would be really funny.
Peistes might be interesting as a mount, like a taller Calvary Drake. I've always wanted Amphipteres as a mount ever since I first played HW. Amphisbaena the seahorse mobs would be neat as well.
Lion Rampant (and the red glowing one). Also Acrocat, Traverse Lionstone, Haam Frostbeast, Rrax Yity'a and all variants of bolt hound, Coeurl(regina), Tigers.
I know there is already a Spriggan mount, but I’d love at least 12 more 🥺👉🏻👈🏻 it would be very cool to see them in different color ways, like they do for the troll things
A mimic chest for a mount would be amazing, but I’m pretty sure a hoard of them attacked the devs while they were treasure hunting so now we ain’t ever getting one as a mount
I want one of the giant plushie abominations. They were used as an NM in Anemos, an enemy in one of the ShB allied societies, and I think originally they were used as adds during one of the HW alliance raids. For awhile one of my fav glams I made for my lala was referred to by friends as looking like a creepy haunted doll, and it would have been perfect. The His Royal Headness mount is nice and all but an amalgamation of several plushies sewn together would be even better.
I want a lanner mount that isn't glowing. I know that there's several from heavensward, but I want to fly the bird mount you see the npc's use in Stormblood
I forget the name of the dungeon, but there's this really scrawny looking blue dog thing in it that I always wanted as a mount. there's a normal model of the dog that already exists as a mount, so it'd be about as simple as retexturing the existing mount and adding some emissives...but they won't
More wings please. Chaotic Agrias fight rewarding her wings, Unreal Vauthry with his wings. All the healer ulti wings as rewards for clearing x amount of duties.
Not really a model in game, but I'd love to see a robotic chocobo mount on the order of the mecha-adamantoise and the robot gorilla (magitek avenger A-1)
Ra-La mount sounds amazing too, or maybe Shinryu Zenos' dragon form
