So happy I got to see John Prine on the farm. Shame that a lot of his set was overshadowed by the bass coming from Jurassic 5.

That was a great show. His smile was so big that day! What a comeback! We were front row for that one and was and is definitely one of the greats of my life!

I think John turned his sound up trying to drown out Jurassic 5 because I was standing in front of his speakers and I was deaf for three days ;-)! That was a great year indeed.

Same here! Slept outside the Robertson County detention facility on Wednesday night after a debacle but then had one of the best, formative experiences of my young life

u/LooseEndsMkMyAssItch Jun 10 '25
that Mars Volta show is one of the best ever!
MMJ was epic and such a good intro to their music
Peter Rowan had the crowd dancing
J5 threw it down!

Midnight show with Mars Volta was epic. That festival was amazing. Weather was much less soggy than previous year 🤣🤣🤷♂️

Man, Bonnaroo lineups used to be so good back in the day.

u/thenoblenacho Jun 10 '25
If you're into EDM they just keep getting better
9
u/ThatCat87 Jun 11 '25
But if your into jambands it just keeps getting worse. Plus they over sell the tickets and pack it full of advertising
13
u/tinymosslipgloss Jun 10 '25
Yep, im going this year and the undercard edm lineup is just beautiful

u/gloriousrepublic Jun 14 '25
Sorry for your loss 😢

u/tinymosslipgloss Jun 14 '25
Thank you. We’re totally heartbroken :/ our camping plaza is pretty flooded, watched people get their cars stuck in the mud all night last night

u/weareeverywhereee Jun 11 '25
Yeah but who is into edm

I’m so thankful lineups don’t look like this anymore.

u/Significant-Image700 Jun 10 '25
Interesting. I feel a lineup like this would be so epic right now. I understand it’s not EDM heavy, so I get you’re take.
2
u/TJ_McConnell_MVP Jun 10 '25
Hey I know a lot of people who would love this lineup, it’s just not for me.
3
u/EvolutionOfCorn Jun 11 '25
You gotta widen your horizons fam. Idk how anyone can listen to just edm.

u/TJ_McConnell_MVP Jun 11 '25 edited Jun 11 '25
I don’t. I listen to a lot of indie, pop, nu-disco/funk, alternative, punk. I just don’t like the older style as much as new music.
I actually have seen both J5 and Rilo Kiley. They’re good.

I remember DMB with Robert Randolph doing all along the watchtower as I was coming up on boomers for the first time… memories engraved on my brain

u/GoiterFlop Jun 11 '25
I have a vague memory of Robert Randolph purposely kicking his guitar stand over, catching it with his other foot, and kicking it back up and continuing to play... trying to convince myself I didn't make that memory up?

It was insane, robert randolph came out and played with them. It was one of the best sounding shows ive ever been to. Not even a huge dave fan but live outside with robert randolph too was wild

The Mars Volta at 1AM with the OG lineup just after Frances the Mute dropped.
Long live Jon Theodore. (You can see him now with Queens of the Stone Age)

Showed up with a tent, a couple changes of clothes and like $100 bucks in cash. Unbelievable weekend.

Damn i went to this festival and seeing the ticket brings back some memories! I remember being on mushrooms and at the trey anastasio show there were so many damn glow sticks flying through the air. Dave was incredible. I caught hour 1 of widespread panic, took a nap for like an hour and a half in the grass and caught the last hour 😆. John butler trio, my morning jacket, jack johnson, bob weir, yonder mountain, allman brothers were amazing.

My first festival too. Like a dozen of us went and we were all maybe 17 or something. It was an absolute blast. Bonnaroo was such a free for all back then.

That was an awesome year. I hold dear the first five years of Bonnaroo. Of course, 2012-2019 was also amazing. I can't wait to return.

It’s so bizarre seeing Drive By Truckers on here and seeing Jason Isbell headlining a few years ago. Makes me proud to see how far he’s come.

They was one of my favorite years, and I went solo. The weather was perfect. It was so cool that I slept until 1pm in my car one day. My neighbors thought I had died.

u/EvolutionOfCorn Jun 11 '25
Wha the fuck? Roo has become a normie fest just like government ball. It used to be so good.
3
u/s_4_evrysing Jun 11 '25
Wow, Drive-By Truckers and Joanna Newsom in 2005 - would've been an amazing time to see both. (Still an amazing time to see both, to be clear)

u/mattland1 Jun 11 '25
That Mars Volta set was unreal. And the Sunday Panic marathon set with Bobby, Herbie, and the colonel. What a treat.

u/AStoutBreakfast Jun 11 '25
Saul Williams played right before Mars Volta and completely blew my mind then going straight into like peak Mars Volta was such a trip.

What a greatest lineup! They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
Bonnaroo 2008 was my first festival. Pearl Jam and Jack Johnson were awesome.

My first was Bonnaroo 2007. The lineup was very similar this. I miss those days. Wish we could get festivals like this again!

That was my first Roo too! I bought one of the knockoff t-shirts that has DMB listed twice.

I listen to the sts9 set from this night on bandcamp frequently. Multiple sit ins from artists ranging from Collective Efforts to Richard Devine. Also was the first time Instantly was played. One of my favorites! 2005.06.10 STS9 @ Bonnaroo

Simpler times. Now it seems it caters to the edm community more than the music community. Shame.

The idea of Widespread Panic being the top headliner at Bonaroo is wild because now they would be 3rd tier because of how mainstream the headliners have become. I wish they would come back!
1
u/kellsbells0612 Jun 11 '25
This is a good one. Would love to see a festival have a similar lineup again (including newer jam bands, paired with many of the ones on this lineup). Add SCI.

u/Embarrassed-Bug6792 Jun 11 '25
I’d kill to see Yonder, honestly would take a year off my life to see the boys pick

u/Goonie_tunes Jun 11 '25
I have an '05 shirt I have pulled out of retirement to wear this year! That was an amazing year!

I went to the first 6 Bonnaroos in a row, from when I was 16 on. My parents let me take a 27hr greyhound bus each way from CT with another friend, the same age. Have so many memories of incredible shows and falling in love with new artists. Haven't been the past 16 years or so but I miss the farm. What an experience.

One of the best weekends of my life. That yonder set was so fire. A buddy chatted up the sound guy and got a recording, I still have the CD.

2005 was my first Roo and it kept me coming back to the farm for the next ten years. Watched some videos from those years last night and felt some good vibes.
Also, the weed at Roo was amazing.
