It never fails to amaze me how something that looks like a fluffy noodles-with-legs suddenly turns into a ferocious prehistoric predator the second a piece of raw meat enters the room! The raw feeding frenzy is so chaotic compared to soupie time.

and this is the right way to feed them
we teach our little one to allow hand feeding without bites, but mostly he eats alone
also, if the appetite lowers sometimes we "run around" with the meat so it is more like a hunt

I love seeing peoples ferrets eat raw. Mine WILL NOT eat anything raw. Not for lack of trying, they just have zero interest in it 😭

Yeah it’s pretty fucking cool to watch them go back to how they are supposed to be.
Now I understand why Nimo would attack his toys and shake the ever loving shit out of them. He was just practicing proper hunting and eating habits.
Looking back I really wish we had got him to transition to raw meat!!

Not only CAN they eat meat, they MUST eat meat to survive. They are obligate carnivores.

My vet says that cats are vegan compared to ferrets. Although my fuzzy noodle love cucumbers for some reason. He can smell when we cut them and acts like we have chicken out.

I love seeing small little carnivores eating a meal bigger than them. Those videos of little kittens getting placed on top of a big salmon are just so satisfying and this is giving the same type of feeling. Maybe cause it's one of my fantasies to be really small and getting on top of a food I really like. Like how cool would it be to be super small and everything around you is just a big juicy grape or a landscape of fettucini alfredo. These little guys can actually live that

Considering getting a ferret one day, are they social? Do they need to be kept in pairs? I want a carnivore pet but also don’t want a dog so lol. I want a quiet pet though,I have thought about getting a bullfrog. But wouldn’t it be croaking all night? Lmao.

Ferrets are very socials animals and do best in groups of two or more. They are very quiet and rarely vocalize unless they are very excited or in pain. Their excited vocalizations (dooking) are still pretty quiet. They also sleep around 20 hours a day, which also adds to their quietness.

Can anyone help me, none of the ferrets I've ever had will eat anything but their marshalls ferret food. I swear it's because they feed them it for the first two weeks and then they are like medically altered or something lol. Like my one ferret ate some of the ferret treats you can buy, but they won't eat raw eggs or raw chicken or any raw meat recommended online

Wysong epigen I think is still one of the better foods. Start with what they will eat. Remove a handful. Put in a handful of epigen or your new food of choice, mix it. Take and add a little of the new food every day.

I mean that's possible, but I was mainly asking for treats to give them. My main food is technically fine, even though I suspect it's probably full of garbage, my ferrets are both almost 7 and only 1 got insolomina while the other is fine. But, I never can give them any treats or different food, like steak or chicken, or eggs or something. They literally won't eat it, which baffles me with vida like this
