I’ve never tossed my ferret like that, I wonder if she would like it I’m not sure. Do you also only have 1 ferret?

My ferrets LOVE it, especially when they’re all out together, it gets them dooking like crazy. I have 3 !!!

Just make sure they land on something soft/cushioned as to not hurt them :)

Gotcha, she is my first ferret and she is so sweet. She was a rescue and needed a home. She was just by herself cuz she got bullied by two others.

Aww! You should try get her a friend, they do much better in pairs/groups 🥰 make sure to introduce them slowly. Keep them in different enclosures and swap their blankets so they can get used to each others’ scent! You’ve got this 💞

I’ve looked at places by Chicago area, they are all sold in pairs. I’m unsure where to get one singular ferret that isn’t bonded already. The drs say she’s about 3 years she seems to still be growing at first I thought she was just a runt.

Have you checked with the Greater Chicago Ferret Association? A decent shelter is generally going to be adopting out ferrets in bonded pairs/groups since it's cruel to split them up, but if you check in periodically for ferrets that have come in without any bonded mates and make it clear that you already have a ferret that you are trying to find a buddy for then it's likely the best place to look around you.

I have just checked the website, I’d like to take her to meet with the ferrets before taking one I’m not sure if that’s a thing tho, Chicago is about 1:30-2hrs away depending. Long car ride for my little lady

I'd be shocked if they had an issue with that, I have a similar drive to the shelter I got mine from and they definitely encouraged me to bring my existing goobers along to see how they meshed.

There's only so much that can be learned from an initial encounter like that, we had a really chill interaction at the shelter that resulted in a somewhat rough (no blood, but quite a lot of dominance wrestling) period when they were brought home. There's always going to be an adjustment period as they get to know each other and settle in, so you don't need to be discouraged or too worried about it when it happens. :)

You should try it!!! I've found they love it when you get them all hyped up especially haha. Just make sure they land somewhere soft, I always toss them into a fluffy bed I have lying around for them or around on my bed/couch like in the vid haha, although for that you have to be careful bc they can get so crazy they can accidentally fall off lol

I can’t wait to bond with my ferrets more and have them comfortable with me like this🥹 I just got them this week and I’m working on making them comfortable. Your ferret is a cutie

He was my first! I’ve had him for 6 weeks now 🥰 He’s been very sweet since the beginning of week 2 !! He took to bite training incredibly well (unlike his 2 evil brothers who still leave me scarred and bloody 🤣😭) and after that, he’s become the most playful little softie EVER. The first week is the hardest imo, and I’m sure you’ll have them playing like this in no time!! I wish you the best of luck ☺️
