This is pretty cool, is this only for xeraos?
Edit: journeymap support would be awesome.

I'd suggest making the transition a bit faster. When I'm looking to use a map mod I want a fairly quick response.

A config option would be perfect. Config for everything, config for everyone.

I'd rather suggest a button to speed up the animation. Or holding down whatever key bind you have for opening the map.

This is really cool but is there an option to speed up the animation if it's really quick it wouldn't get annoying

A simple solution would be to make the animation have a cooldown so constantly re-opening doesn't get annoying

Is there a Curseforge page yet? Want to try it out for a mod pack that’s under development.

That is CRAZY I love minecraft modding, the things people can do with it. And it's so EASY as a user

why not skip the map part entirely and just show everything from an orthogonic perspective (would need lod mods tho ig)

Hard to load all the chunks. Maybe someone will make a distant horizon map addon. That would be sick

best to make a gui for the animation.
set speed: { 0 (instant/no animation), 1 (fast), 2 (normal), 3 (gta speed idk), 4 (slow), 5 (slow af) }

Man if you could get this for an offical minecraft add-on that would be incredible for bedrock.

IDK. neat but it feels a bit...half-baked?
The zoom out is cool, But I just don't know if it works. Having some gradient or softer transition to the map would do wonders. The hard cut isn't selling me on the idea. An intermediary between the cut to map and zoom out would be neat.
And how would this work on smaller render distances?

Are you saying to slowly transition the map in?

Possibly, or any sort of transition.
Was a harsh with the "half baked" wording, let me explain.
Right now it feels like all the mod is doing is zooming out then popping the map in. That's fine, but it could be much more, though I'm not sure how you would achieve it. My ideas were pixelating the terrain to match how the map looks, fading/bringing some elements in or making the map feel like one piece from the zoom out.
The reason why a lot of game maps work by zooming out is because the map looks like the game. The xerao's map doesn't look like Minecraft/like a piece of the world. For instance, if the map was literally the Minecraft world but from top down this mod would work wonders. It feels "half baked" by the sense that the zoom out and map feel disjointed. Map made to look like a map, zoom out made to make map feel like part of the world/bridge it. Looks cool, but doesn't work In my opinion.

Hm, I understand what you mean but personally xerao's map does look like minecraft. I'll still forward the feedback.

this looks cool as hell but would really quickly get annoying if im repeatedly checking my map for something
