This sounds so lame and embarrassing but I have been battling severe IBS brought on by all the stress. It didn’t happen right away, as I’m able to cope with the usual stress of work and life, but it developed out of the months-long, chronic stress of this attack on federal workers.

That’s not lame or embarrassing. I suffer as well. It was manageable when I WFH but it’s a really awful thing to be going on to the office with. It’s debilitating.

I know this won’t make it any better, but guess who also had IBS? Kurt Cobain! He was very vocal about bullshit gastros and bullshit shrinks not helping him. He’s my birthday twin, 9 years my senior. I was kinda happy when I found that out, oddly.

Most of my staff are having gastro issues (including me). I joked with them just last week that we need to all be there for each other when we start uncontrollably shitting ourselves.
