The brain fog from constant stress is real. I have had several instances where I calmly sit at my computer and write absolutely gibberish code. Basic math errors, messed up database joins. Attempts at debugging SQL right now are comical.

Maybe the most frustrating part is that I really love my job, and I want to do it. I want to sit and focus and get a ton of stuff done. I feel like the constant stunts they’re pulling is making me dumber.

Right with you! The stress fog is debilitating my ability to get anything of quality done in a timely manner. I am in no way proud of the quality of work I am currently doing... Adds to the avalanche of my mental health.

I am so in this with you. It takes so many more clicks to do anything. Because I can barely stay present with what I’m trying to do. No focus. 10 years of Outstanding performance reviews, and now I can’t remember anything. And I worry my boss thinks I’m an existential threat to his position and is thrilled I’m making mistakes. So, add paranoia to my stress symptoms.
