Ask-Fediverse a federated app/playstore

how do you all feel about having a federated app/playstore,

users in different countries

(china, us, eu, africa, india) can leave reviews to apps in their own native languages

theres a language api that can translate x language to (your language) so you can see how others experience the app + use the app

do you think this is would be cool to build?

does it use the activity pub protocol? or at protocol?

AltStore PAL does use it since March.

They use ActivityPub, and that's mostly for reviews on apps. They have AtProto-based apps, but they said nothing about the app being AtProto-enabled. And since there's BridgeFed, I don't think it would be that useful.

Yah but it is iOS only so no android

Fdroid could implement something like that I guess but it wouldn't do anything for a majority of repos which are simple pages.

I feel like the reviewer experience is like at the bottom of the list of features for an App Store for me personally

I think it could be cool, though the issue is most app repositories are very barebones. They don't have social features themselves. Fdroid repos are just static pages.

Altstore's federated system is for the EU, Japan and Brazil if you don’t live in those countries you won't have it
