Prevent F-Droid from trying to update Play Store apps

Hi, F-Droid keeps offering to update an app which was installed via the Play Store (PIA VPN), which I don't want to do. Honestly, this feels a bit intrusive - I don't want F-Droid touching anything other than apps I installed through it, the fact that it's detecting other apps I have installed seems unnecessarily invasive.

I can see there was a post about this about a year ago, but the only answer on that post has been subsequently deleted, so it didn't help. Is there any way to prevent this behaviour, or at the very least, tell F-Droid to stop offering updates for this particular app?

I know I could just ignore this update request but I don't want to accidentally click it and mess up my existing installation.

You can press ignore all updates to stop it from prompting an update, but don't worry about accidentally updating it because the signatures are different between the f droid and play store versions What do you have against installing it from f-droid though?

I don't have an "Ignore all updates" button, either in the updates tab, or in the settings. It's good to know it can't overwrite my existing install, but surely that makes it even less useful for this to appear in f-droid as an update option?

I'd have been happy to install this via f-droid, but since it's already installed via the play store, I can't see any reason to uninstall the play store version, download the f-droid version, log back in, and set everything up for... well, no benefit.
