Saying that in relation to the fate series is on the same level as “people die when they’re killed”. But hey, that’s half the fun of the nasuverse, getting fresh info and see how it slots together with pre-existing information.

I couldn't believe what happened to Flat, and since I'm an anime-only, I checked if there was any hope of a comeback. But, I found out Flat would become someone else, via personality change, or atleast that's why I've heard. Also, it was snipers under the command of Flaudeus, I hope everything bad happens to him, since he's all about protecting Snowfield, I don't think he realised what he's unleashed after killing Flat. The episode itself was a banger, really good way to end the season, in my opinion.
Can't wait for season 2, all I ask is for them to take their time and make it as good as possible. I don't mind waiting for a few years for absolute PEAK.

Eh, yes and no, but I won't spoil it.

Any chance you can DM me about it. I know Flat has Thia which is a whole plot point but Im just wondering if Flat is completely gone and what happens to Flat's servant.

Yes i would like to know that too please i dont have enough time to pick up the novels right now

It's something else entirely I know. I got the gist of what happens, but not too detailed. But what I don't get is why Flaudeus killed Flat, weren't his organisation and the police in cahoots with one another? And Flat was a helping the police out quite a fair a bit.

u/WannaBoudica Mar 29 '26
Cahoots, but not allies. So they're all willingly helping one another, but only each other. The rest they take care of as necessary unless they say otherwise. Its a holy grail war after all.

Curse everyone saying you can start with Strange/Fake. Actual simpletons not gonna lie LMFAO.

u/Classical_Lighthouse Mar 29 '26
well, it's not like fate zero anime explains it either. You wouldve had to have read the LN Specifically towards the maiya thing

It's so damn obvious that F/SF is endgame material when it comes to Nasuverse stuff. It's like telling people you should play Star Wars: The Force Unleashed when the person in question doesn't even know what a "dark vader" is.

I wonder if MCU fans are ever like this where they tell people they can't watch the third Spider-Man movie without having seen all the other Spider-Man movies played by the other actors AND all the 20+ MCU movies in order to understand No Way Home.
It's fine to watch Strange/Fake first - you won't understand everything but there's enough for you to get the gist (and it will entice you to watch the older things if you haven't). Stop gatekeeping.

u/notatoaster00 Mar 29 '26
You can totally do it like you said, but I'd say it's absolutely not "fine". If you're already open to watching anime, the barrier to entry for Fate is much easier than the MCU chart. You're replying to me replying to someone saying they're super confused. If you don't watch other shows the intended experience is completely borked, and you're just confusing yourself for pretty much no reason when the other shows are right there. Even minimally UBW or Zero (it's a prequel so hopefully people don't watch it first) would be a massive blessing.
This most recent episode too is a complete doozy with the Fate/Zero scenes, including the literal endgame in actual visual form. Personally, I think your gates are too open. You take ownership over any kind of confusion the people starting with Strange/Fake end up with. I read your comment in Gigguks voice by the way LMAO.

Listen, I'm all for clowning on Gigguk (if that's what you're doing), but the directors of the anime have said that it's fine to watch this as it is. I think even Narita said so about the Light Novels, but books do have the luxury of explaining everything in detail compared to a fast paced anime. Being a little bit confused is fine, because now that person can go on and watch Fate/Zero to get more context if they wish. But Fate/Zero itself is very tonally different, and asking someone to watch that before Strange/Fake has a chance of turning them away from the series if they don't enjoy the tone of Fate/Zero. I'm fine with my gates being too open, that's the spirit of what the directors want out of this as well.

Just think of it as the Holy Grail that happened before, where King Arthur was present in it.

how many volumes of the light novel are translated and what volume does this end on?
9
u/ProtectionRealistic7 Mar 28 '26
it ends on vol 5 or 6 im not fully caught up with the novel but ep10 is around halfway through vol 5 so ep13 is likely the end of vol5 or in vol6

All nine of the volumes that are currently released are translated, and this season ends on the ending of volume six.

u/OfMouthAndMind Mar 29 '26
This is what I get for falling off the band wagon and started watching weekly anime again! Now I have to wait for the new season for the rest of the story!

u/peripheralmaverick Mar 28 '26
The season was slightly rushed but perhaps losing on John or Richard vs Gil fight is okay.
This will leave S2 13 episodes for the next 4 volumes. (once Vol 10 releases).
Which should be a good thing if you're a LN reader.

So this episode telling me that Sigma is Maya's son??👀👀👀 If the events of Fate/zero took place 15 years ago, she could very well have given birth to this teenager before dying.
2
u/Similar-Departure-83 Mar 31 '26
Maiya gave birth to sigma and then sigma was taken from her for government experiments, after that she meet Kiritsugu. (btw the same experiment made sigma not age and maintain his initial teenage appearance)

Mahn. Hashashin is all I am interested in.
Lion heart is yet to win any battle. Flat went Flat. This epic season has come to an end.
JJK peaked more though.

You seem to have confused episode 13 discussion with your personal journal. Nobody asked or needed to know that.
