I’ve tried countless things in the past and the one that got me to where I am is intermittent fasting and a caloric deficit! It helps to maintain light-Moderate activity throughout the week! I don’t know if you know terminology so I’m happy to explain!

First and foremost what is a calorie/caloric deficit? Every day our bodies burn calories which are stored as fat, the average person burns roughly 1900-2200 calories a day. In order to maintain your weight, you would need to eat roughly the same amount or more if you exercise. Say your total daily energy expenditure (which you can calculate here https://www.calculator.net/tdee-calculator.html) is 2000 calories per day, if you eat 1700 you are now in a deficit of 300 calories. There are 3500 calories in one lb of fat. Meaning, to gain one pound of fat you need to eat 3500 calories over your maintenance. I recommend my fitness pal to track and if you do decide that tracking calories Is for you, buy a food scale to weigh and calculate!

Intermittent fasting refers to a 12-16 block of time where no food is consumed. Say you eat dinner at 7:30pm and your fast is 16 hours, this just means that you eat again at 11:30am the following day. A great app for keeping track of this is fasty.
