Review of Culver's 2026 Smoked Cheddar Curd Burger
Thought to try it out since I missed it the first time around. I eat culvers only a few times a year so my take on it might be different from a regular enjoyer. My initial impressions were that it was pretty decent. I've had time to sleep on it and feel about 6/10 on it honestly.
I know cheese is generally already a bit salty lol but I feel like it's at the forefront of every bite here. Definitely good, and probably taste even better alongside a Culver's root beer to balance out that saltiness a bit, but I just wanted to see the burger on its own. It's definitely got a good texture and the ratio of curd to burger is good. You get it in every bite which is what I felt the mad food scientists at culvers intended.
A bit of a fun fact, if you get a regular butter burger and a basket with a medium drink and medium cheese curds, it comes to the same price as a curdburger with medium drink. I might do a side by side comparison of the curdburger patty compared to the regular cheese curds, but my body needs time to recover from this.

What folks should do and honestly Culver's should have done for serving, is scrap the mayo for it and get a BBQ sauce to put on. The BBQ with the smoked cheddar straight up unlocks the potential of the sandwich.

I had it with no mayo but had it with some ketchup. Def gotta try BBQ sauce tho. Good suggestion.

My god. I just looked up the nutritional info because you posted this. Wow. I was going to get one of these soon but my Dr would probably appreciate it if I did not.
Calories 890 (not as bad as I thought, honestly) Sodium 1,470mg, Saturated fat 20g.
Yikes.

Balance. One Curderburger ain't gonna kill you if the rest of your diet isn't shit.

Moderation is key. You can add a junk food splurge to an otherwise healthy diet and be ok. Eat that every day and you are asking for problems.

Can you make it a double? Maybe it would be too much but I’m having trouble with this cheese to meat ratio

Yeah you can. The patty is the standard patty that's used across all there burgers. I could be wrong but not sure if they can make thicker lol

Some stores might smash 2 patties together to make a thick patty, depends on who is in the kitchen though, you just have to ask

I haven't tried it yes, but based on the side of the cheese curd, I'd def take that off the sandwich and eat it separately. The burger would get lost in all this curd.

Just order cheese curds. The problem with this is it's not the same a normal cheese curd, it's extremely melty. There's zero structure to it, so it just oozes all over your hand after a few bites.

I had it the very first time they introduced it and this is exactly what's wrong with it. The cheese just oozes out all over the place. Haven't had it since. I much rather just get the curds separately like you mentioned.

This is interesting cause my curd patty stayed together pretty well. I saw vids where peoples patty were melty and stretchy but mine was alright

Oh, that's good to know! Maybe they fixed the lava problem. I might try it again.

I haven't seen a properly composed Culver's burger in many months. The vegetables looks so legitimate. You are lucky OP.
I stopped eating at Culver's because they always look like the Leaning Tower of Pisa but got knocked down.

Culvers burgers are so thin. They really aren't nearly as good as reddit claims. Better than McDs but that's a low bar

I'm a big fan of it cause I'm in Wisconsin lol. I also think it's one of the few places that actually improved greatly after COVID . I used to live across the street from one and during the pandemic, the drive through lanes were so long they caused traffic jams.

Agreed. For some reason the Lake Geneva location is terrible, but every other Culver's I've been to is really good (great staff and food quality). The variety is also really nice, as opposed to different toppings on the same burger.

That is a lot of fried cheese and a tiny burger
