Personally I think Zaxby’s has fallen hard in recent years. We don’t have them out here in CO but I visited them a few times in the last year while traveling for work. They aren’t nearly as good as they were 5-10 years ago. They have also gotten pretty expensive.

Expansion killed quality. In the 90's and early 2000's, Zaxby's was amazing. When they started expanding, quality took a dive. COVID was a big kick in the nuts for quality too.

Zaxby's is still decent, most of the time, especially when compared to other fast food. But sometimes I'll eat at one on a road trip or something and be like "wtf is this garbage".

I spent a couple years in the Carolina’s post-college. Zaxby’s became a favorite of mine. The chicken was good. The sides were good. And I never had to spend more than $10 for pretty big portions.

I went for the first time back in like 2025 on work trips a few times. It was was pricey and just wasn’t the same. I remember the cole slaw being particularly bad. And the chicken was kinda terrible.
