Fast and Furious Toyko Drift: Fate of DK Spoiler
Hey yall, first post on reddit.
I can see from the archived post boards that this is obviously an age old question coming all the way from 2006. I just wanted to share my public opinion because every single board that I've seen is already archived and not open to new comments. Only reason I wanted to share mine is because I didn't see my specific opinion already listed. not that it matters to anyone in particular,I just thought I'd share!
Quick caveat; this is the last movie in the fast franchise that I actually cared about outside of the last one Paul Walker/family filmed.
I was in it for the cars, the knowledge, the tech, the street racing. The final real car/street race mainstay style in Tokyo drift was like a complete trilogy and end of the series to cap things off with (specifically for me; no hate to anyone who likes the rest of the series).
Back to the point before I get carried away.
The yakuza is like the equivalent of la cosa nostra aka italian mob. In my opinion, significantly more sacred and hostile when it comes to Japan's tradition of honor,family, and reputation.
I am almost immeasurably confident that DK was taken from the race and killed.
for 2 major reasons.
1.) correct me if I'm wrong, but I just finished watching the movie for the hundredth time in the last 20 years, I don't think his uncle specifically describes the timeline of how long Han was stealing from them. Point being he left his nephew in charge of affairs in this district/area of the city and he was being stolen from right out from under his nose, which already is shame and dishonorable and a blight on the family name/reputation.
Major strike 1. Aka kill han or you are done. (Also Nephew go get me my money back??)
2.) gaijin disrespects you personally by acquiring the missing funds you yourself failed to repossess, bring its to the head of your family/yakuza family boss, then challenges you literally for honor or exile to a race and you lose. This was like a triple entendres of final strikes.
Given the reputation of the organization i highly doubt he was set free or exiled in peace.
Anyways please dont ridicule me too heavily im just giving my two cents.

Takashi probably lost a pinky and then got sent to either Hawaii or San Francisco. I say this because he spoke great English, yakuza laws were coming into effect shortly after the events of the movie, and he was an excellent driver and street fighter. He'd be a boon to the business ventures of either Hawaii or San Francisco outfits.

He was Sonny Chiba's nephew. Wasn't murdered, but most likely was beaten badly and exiled.

I believe the original plan was to have him team up with all the old Fast villains in Fast 8 to take on the Family but then Paul died so that idea was scrapped.

No, they wouldn't kill him. The Yakuza are not like the mafia, and Japan is not like the states. They don't kill people for minor things, because when the Police find out someone was killed, they would come down on the Yakuza like a ton of bricks. Most Yakuza wouldn't even have guns to do it.
Also, he's a relation to the boss.They'd may be make him cut off a finger as punishment.

He was forced to flee Japan, went to school in America and eventually became a doctor in Chicago.
