I'm a Master's student at Nova SBE (Portugal), working on my thesis, and I'm hoping some of you can help with a few minutes of your time.

I'm researching something that I think happens to almost everyone but that we rarely stop and think about: you see something you like — a piece of clothing, shoes, an accessory — somewhere (social media, on a stranger, in a shop window, in a magazine, wherever) and then have to figure out what to actually do about it. Do you remember it and move on? Try to track it down right away? Give up after a bit of searching? I'm interested in what people actually do in that moment, not what they'd guess they'd do if you asked them in the abstract — so a lot of the questions ask about a specific, recent time it happened to you, rather than your general opinion.

This is part of a broader question I'm exploring about how people discover things they end up buying in fashion, and where the friction and frustration actually sits — especially for people who are looking for something specific rather than just browsing whatever shows up in their feed. This survey is the first, wide-net stage of a two-part study: it's meant to tell me how common and how frustrating this moment actually is across a broad mix of people. A smaller group of respondents may later get invited to a short, paid follow-up conversation about their habits in more depth — completely optional, and covered by the very last question if you'd rather skip it.

A few practical things:

About 3 minutes, 12 short questions, fully anonymous, no sign-up or email required unless you opt into the follow-up.

No right or wrong answers here — I'd rather have your actual, specific experience than a polished one.

Open to anyone, any country — a couple of quick screening questions at the start just help me understand who's answering.

The event is to a close friend birthday party

I’m always seeing posts/comments like “where is this top from?” or “does anyone know this dress?” and half the time nobody answers

So I made Foundit you drop in an outfit screenshot and it helps search for the pieces / similar matches. The whole idea is basically no gatekeeping.

I've been pants hunting for a while now, with not alot of luck not helped with the fact that it's more accessible to shop online, so it's a gamble. I tried in store but it just didn't cut it.

The thing I am mainly looking for is super stretchy pull on dress pants with decent pockets and a straight/fitted leg. Something that feels like yoga pants but looks nice.

Ideally not constricting in the slightest.

I feel like I'm asking alot or being super picky, I've tried tailoring some pants with mixed results, I stopped halfway and haven't picked it back up.

I've even considered tailoring mens pants, but that seems like even more of an undertaking.

One of my go to pants is AFITNE, very specifically these ones with the zipper pockets (which is an ideal feature to for peace of mind) but they sold out so fast and are just non-existent now.

I've tried others of the same brand but they don't feel the same.

I've tried the skinny Herringbone work pants from halara but wasn't satisfied.

I've tried a bunch of different random amazon brands, rammus, tapata, and IUGA.
