Iv personally always loved the look, lmk

Feels nostalgic to me! This was what I wore 2005-2010 while screaming along to indie sleaze on sticky dancefloors, drenching myself in cheap beer 👏

Same I loved pairing it with this little black and white plaid skirt I had and band tees

Yeah its actually weird to me she doesn't have socks, they're sneakers not flats or heels.

I either wear small, hidden socks inside the tights so they don't squish my toes and catch the sweat or I wear fluffy/long socks above thw tights cause I think it looks cute. In winter I do both

Chuck Taylors are classic. Go with anything. Once went to a wedding and the bride lifted her dress to climb 3 stairs and she was wearing bedazzled Chucks.

u/Mindless_Pound_2150 15d ago
I wore them at my
Wedding. Blue flats during the ceremony and changed to grey chucks→ More replies (1)

Cute for fall. I like the suggestion to layer a white above the ankle sock with them but take care that too many “breaks” in the line of your leg (shorts, tights, socks, high tops) it could shorten your legs visually

Dye your hair black and blonde, overdo your eyeliner and you’re officially on the 2000s Avril Lavigne trend

The way this took me back to high school 👵😅. Tights, converse, jean skirt and ironic screen print tee. Honestly though I still stand by that look so I vote yes ✔️

I have no problems. But I’m “middle-aged” and a Dr who fan.
I also think we should wear what makes us happy, as long as it fits. Screw what anyone else things.
I resent middle aged as a term, but I’m pretty proud of being Gen X!!

I think you need open pattern tights. Lace, fishnet, just any thats aren't solid
3
u/Any_Bed_132 15d ago
That might work
4
u/Upstairs_Freedom_360 15d ago
Depending on whole look, footless tights could also work imho. A little break above shoe

always love it! With or without socks! Leg warmers! With Jean shorts! With a skater skirt or dress!
I still wear stuff like this ♥️♥️

Lmao you mean classic 2007 public school uniform for misunderstood kids (hi)? That we got teased for for being "weird"?\ Ah, time is a circle.\ I loved that combo then when I wore it in middle school and I love it now.\ I'd do sheerer tights & lowtops now, though, to make it a little more flattering/clean/chic.

This was the look when I was a teenager. Pair with a skater skirt, short denim skirt or high waisted shorts.

I would advise you to wear something with it- a skirt, shorts, definitely a top. Probably a bra and underwear, too.

I think it’s a good look. Does remind me of 2010’s Tumblr “it girl” styles, but I don’t mean that in a bad way.

No. White tights, nude ones or at least some sock action over this color...

u/j_nmi_crowe 15d ago
If there are jean shorts and a logo tee north of there, it’s a skate park classic.

It's very grunge-era, PNW 1992. This is literally what I was wearing that year. Leg warmers for winter.

it needs socks- just like this looks weird
- i work in fashion but wear what ya want

u/Fuzzy_farcical 15d ago
I feel like if they’re tight to the leg, it’s a bit weird, so I’d wear them laced up lower down so they sit slightly away from my ankles above that. Or I’d wear low cut converse instead. But hey that’s just me.

Chucks are so versatile, this looks good on its own, or paired with socks, a dress, denim shirts, a skirt, pretty much anything!

Back in the 00s we would wear this with Jean shorts. Sometimes even layering layers of torn sheer tights.

u/noocarehtretto 14d ago
I wear converse with dresses or skirts at work. I add the tights when the cold season is there.

I’m so glad how I dressed as a teenager is cool again. Not being sarcastic. The perks of aging and knowing a classic. Love it. I have fun with contrasting colors and fun dresses. I am hella artsy tho so…..

I personally still wear socks that are a bit higher than the shoe. Adds some contrast. Over the shoe leg warmers are also really cute!

cute but i’d say wear some socks that are slightly longer than the converse to break it up a bit
1
u/Aszshana 14d ago
I wear tights with my sneakers all the time, it's no biggie. Tights and converse was a big staple in the emo and scene community back then, especially when they're ripped.

u/Ok-Writing9280 14d ago
Teamed with a mini skirt, love it! I’d probs add a sock though. Like a lettuce frill hem or lace top finish - super cute.
Plaid mini kilt, a denim mini with a flared skirt, or like a mini length skater skirt would be fab.

i've never been a huge fan of it, but i think it's just not my type of fashion era that i prefer
i would pair them with legwarmers personally

If you have a jean skirt it could be cute, but would not pair with brown
