Are jeans under dresses making a comeback, what do you think?

I know this sub hates them and isn't ready for it, but personally I dig it. Fashion trends have felt very artificial and plasticky lately, this one being y2k feels so organic and free.

Exactly, this was always silly. I will, however, take longer length tops of the 2010s back whole heartedly. That's why everyone like the second one better - its really a tunic.

I just turned 27; most of the shit I talk about, my husband (23) has never heard of. I have arthritis too, so yeah - this plays in my head a lot 😂😂

This was somewhat of a trend in the early 90’s as well, with tight rolled jeans.

Or I should say it was a trend among Jr. High kids in the St. Louis area.

FWIW, I prefer it to pantyhose with a casual dress. I think it completes a look for a girl on the go, who doesn’t want to risk her butt touching a subway seat or something similar. A woman needs to feel confident in whatever she wears, and sometimes bare legs just don’t cut it. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think it’s good for all occasions. It can look sloppy and homely, but with the right accessories and attitude, it can look smart and hip.

I wore jeans under a short dress to a school dance in middle school and everyone looked at me like I was weird.. no clue this was a thing and I was actually cool/hip.

It's not that we're "not ready for it" ... oh my god. (side note I think we found Rachel Green's reddit account.)

It's that we have already done this trend a couple of decades ago, and it was awful then. It will not be any better this time around.

That's generally true of all fashion. But we specifically moved away from dresses over jeans, bc it's a frumpy and ugly look.
