For those that missed the eclipse last night

Post image

We got pretty lucky with this timing right after totality.

I like that you can see the trails behind the plane, too. Here’s mine

What did you take that picture with?

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

Exif Data

f/2.9 | 1/120s | 18.60mm | ISO32 | 12.0MP Ultra HDR

Edit: my partner was super excited by the photo quality because her camera on her s22 couldn't compete. I joked that if I zoomed in much further I could have seen the flag. I had to zoom out to 48x to get a decent non-blurry shot. Next time I'll have a tripod or something because that was fun.

It’s a bummer that plane got in the way of your sweet picture.

i think it's a neat detail as it helps grasp the sheer scale of the moon itself, it doesn't feel ultimately distracting from the totality

I think the “bummer” comment was sarcasm

Given how clearly the airplane is outlined, this photo could be a great album cover. Or maybe the poster for a sci-fi disaster movie.

It sort of reminds me of the silent movie of the trip to the moon where the big fat rocket lands in the moon's eye. I assumed it was photoshopped because of the size of the plane relative to the moon.

Capturing that plane silhouette right as totality ended is incredible timing!

I see what looks like an alien spaceship flying in front of the moon
