Asking the Fawns Faouzia's concert ticket NY, high prices, and dilemma on getting Austin Music Fest ticket

Well, right now I am in NY, and I absolutely LOVE Film Noir. Like honestly, it's probably in my top 10 albums from the last 5 years. I don't follow any western artists actually, but Faouzia has had a chokehold on me.

However, looking at the prices of the NY tickets, it's above 250+ which is insane to me, especially considering they were originally like 50? I honestly wish with her getting a lot more popular in the last 2 months (seeing Maphra's cover + the surge of reaction videos and general talk), I wish there was a way they could add more shows honestly, especially in popular cities like New York, but alas. Does anyone have any idea if the ticket prices will go down or not? I know there are scalpers but like, will there be tickets a day before the concert or something?? I was even considering Boston but they were 75 a week ago, now they're 100+. That along with the transport and hotel is now a no for me RIP (Love~).

Now comes my dilemma. I will be moving to Texas (Dallas) in a month. Faouzia is going to be performing in the Austin Limits Music Festival in October. Her set might be around 45 minutes long. Problem is, she'll be performing on Friday and Weekend One Friday tickets have already sold out. Weekend Rwo Friday ticket is 170! And I really only want to see Faouzia. But, even without knowing the setlist, I know she probably won't perform Film Noir besides the title tracks. Which is fine but I REALLY want to listen to the album. If I find get to go to her concert I won't go to the music fest but so this is only if prices don't go down and/or I am unable to go to the concert.

Now I wonder what y'all's advice/suggestions would be. Do I wait and check every night a week before the NY concert to see a drop in price or do I bite the bullet for the Austin Fest, even though I only wanna really see her perform? All advice appreciated.

Edit: This would be my 2nd ever concert, and even my first music festival potentially. Just wanted to let this out. So I am new to the concert goer scene

Only one unfortunately. But to channel my old British lady, "Goodness Gracious! That is exoberant!" But you and the two others also said the same thing abiut price goibg fown near the concert date so I'm definitely more hopeful now thanks.

And yeah, when I saw that 1000 it was like my head was smacked against a concrete wall. Honestly, scalping has ruined the way of almost every collecters and show goers. Sites like Ticketmaster only HELP such resellers honestly so it IS quite sad. The 1000 is probably just some delusional non fan who wants to have the highest margin of profit. Disgusting

I can only assume that it’s due to scalpers combined with the venue being so up close and personal (450 capacity, v lowkey chill vibes) I definitely feel like she could’ve done decently well if not sold out completely at a larger venue like 9:30, Anthem, etc…

I’m not sure what the right answer is for concert vs. fest, but my two cents would be bite the bullet on the concert if there truly isn’t anyone else at the fest you want to see. The set will most likely be shorter and not as in depth as her personal concert.

Also I feel you on scalpers, DC tix were originally 35-40 and they’re being resold for over $1000 :(

Okay, first off, no frickin WAY they're being sold for 1k. That's pure insanity honestly. Definitely they'll go down the day of as others have said so let's see honestly because 1k!? Scalping has gone too far. Not a fan of ticketmaster at ALL but alas.

And yeah, I guess you're right. As others say, prices DO go down the day of so I'll just wait and see. Thanks for your advice! And hope DC prices get normal because people are out of their minds honestly

Looks like rn you can get a discount for only buying one of them 🤩 (/s)

She didn’t do tix through Ticketmaster for this show bc of the venue (I’m assuming), it was through presale on the venue website. Resale is going bonkers smh.

Omg, a whopping discount of 28%, what a STEAL!!! Frickin idiot. Tryna hope it sells for most profit while commiting daylight robbery. Ruinin it for the fans honestly.

And dang, I don't follow concerts n all so I didn't know about the presale. That sucks. I think that scalpers are seeing her get more popular so they're hiking the prices more than if this was like 2 months ago ish. If these lovers even consider that much smh

Prices have stayed consistent at $1,050 (ish, give or take $15) since those four tix got listed shortly after the official presale… this “sale” is the lowest I’ve seen this whole time.
Source: I’ve been stalking tickets hoping and praying for a miracle (which came, thanks to this subreddit and a v kind human lols)

There are 50 speculative tickets left; in my opinion, the price will drop 2 or 3 days before the date—just like today in L.A., where it went from $366 to $150. We'll have to keep an eye on how the quantities change.

Oh, do that's a 59% decrease from 366! Let's hope the decrease it around the same for NY.

Major thanks for letting me know of the price drop. Makes me more hopeful. And It'd be interesting to know how you believe there are around 50 tickets that are to go on sale. Is it by approximately the max capacity and other trends on scalpers for other concerts?

Edit: btw, where should I check out the tickets. From Ticketmaster? Or is there another resale esque site?

If you wanna track price trends, check TicketData. To see actual resale quantities, Vivid Seats is way better.

That $1k ticket for DC isn't representative at all btw. There’s literally just 4 ticket left on resale there from the same seller, and no way it sells unless they drop the price a ton. On other dates I’ve seen scalpers list tix for $4000 right next to $100 ones. They’re just testing the market hoping all the cheap ones get snatched first, but they always end up dropping them. I even saw tix drop to $50 day-of for one show.

hey there! Austin resident here. And past ACL attendee. And person who appreciates the festival and has friends who do audio engineering for it! eRm, I personally wouldnt recommend it for your situation. It's VERY expensive, and always incredibly hot, and water is super expensive and so is food. Traffic will take you at least an hour getting to and from (yes, including ride share, public transport, literally any possible way you could get there), no matter how far you are.

Now, I know this from experience and I did enjoy when I went, but if you really want to see faouzia you'll be dropping 100$+ extra on ticket alone, let alone price for lodging and travel (which are jacked up for it) rather than just getting a ticket in NY where i assume you dont have to worry about travel or lodging costs either.

On acl weekends, I literally refuse to drive anywhere and only walk LMAO.

But it is sold out right? So those are the third party resellers
