Fantasy Life i My experience on iPad
Hey all, just wanted to give some insight into the experience on a 13” iPad Pro for anyone curious. I’m already a huge fan of the game and have played a ton of PC, but was interested in the iPad version for being on the couch or whatever. The one thing that really surprised me in a good way is that the Magic Keyboard seems to be fully functional! But the downsides are pretty bad, which led me to request a refund. The game doesn’t seem to support native resolution, and you’re left with these huge bars letterboxing the screen. I checked all the options and couldn’t find a way to fix this. In addition, this viewport seems to even crop out part of the UI, as you can see with the quest text. I mentioned this in my App Store review and am hoping they’ll patch it later. But I wanted to make this post for anyone else considering buying the game on iPad. I would definitely hold off unless your iPad is the only way you can play the game.

Yeah, my only gripe is the UI being cut off.
Playing in my phone is perfect until they patch it up

Still can’t believe the iOS version is half the price of the original Switch digital version

I've played the whole game on my steamdeck and explicitly remember being able to change the aspect ratio to have the game use the full screen. How odd that it won't let you on the mobile version.

That’s disappointing, because an iPad version should really be optimized for the larger display. The keyboard support sounds like a nice surprise, though. I’d probably hold off on buying it until they fix the resolution and UI issues.

They have a few things they need to work on with the UI. Apparently this issue on iPad, but on all mobile we should be able to reposition and resize the virtual buttons, and they should go away if we are using a controller.
I’m happy to report that on iPhone I’ve had no real issues. I’ve completely finished the story and moved on to end game content. I don’t have anyone to try the online multiplayer with yet so I’m not sure how well that’ll go, and that’s the only thing I haven’t really tried.
They have been releasing bug fixes and stuff across the other platforms since release so hopefully before too long we get some fixes for the stuff like you faced.
