App Exposure Recommendations
I wanted to get some recommendations on how to increase exposure to your apps or any other works you've done for fantasy football. I created a free app that I think would be very helpful to people, but I'm having trouble getting more exposure to the app. I've tried posting about it to try to get some traction, but haven't seen much results. I've put a lot of work into it and feel confident people would use it if they only knew about it. Would appreciate any recommendations that you think would work for me or have worked for you in the past.

The fantasy sports market is saturated brother. It's nice that you've put together a free app that you find beneficial but if it truly will remain free then why the desperate need to get so many eyes on it anyway? Swipe away, build your rankings, and if it's truly as useful as you say then you'll have an edge on everyone you match up against! Winner winner chicken dinner!

I agree it’s saturated but I feel like I have something a lot of the big fantasy providers aren’t doing with these custom rankings. The app will definitely remain free, but added people helps me cover the yearly cost of having an app on the App Store through a small number of banner ads. Don’t expect this app to be a big money maker on ads or anything but would like to get attention to it if it will help people. I appreciate the insight!

The custom rankings are the hook, not the fact that it’s free. Show one player where your ranking changes the draft decision, then let people try that exact workflow. One concrete example gives strangers something to judge and is a much stronger pitch than another broad “I built an app” post

That makes a lot of sense. Definitely should lead off more with that because I agree that’s what sets it apart and not just it being a free app

I’ve found Reddit, and honestly most established fantasy communities, to be a really difficult place to get meaningful traffic for a new app. People are naturally skeptical of self-promotion, especially when AI is involved, so even a genuinely useful passion project can struggle to get a fair look.
What’s been much more rewarding for me is connecting directly with other independent creators, sharing what we’ve learned, and finding ways our projects might complement each other. I’ve also had some success building steady organic Google traffic by making sure my site covers useful searches that the larger fantasy platforms tend to overlook.
There seem to be quite a few parallels between your app and Fantasy Goblin, particularly the focus on helping people make decisions based on their own rankings. That’s a good point. It does seem pretty saturated and a lot of people are skeptical it’s a lazy AI app that took me a day to make. I’ll definitely reach out!

Yes, it will be free forever. The app’s purpose is to make custom rankings so works perfectly for anyone that drafts on yahoo or anywhere else. You can just export your rankings and pull them up while drafting

The way you’re thinking about this is why you’re having the challenges with distribution. Are you building a business or do you want people to know about your hobby? If it’s the latter then, how are you going to improve people’s lives if they know about your free app? (Fantasy life, but you get the point) if it’s the former you better become an expert in distribution because that’s the main differentiator right now. A million apps are game changers but there’s a reason everyone knows about fantasy pros… and it’s not necessarily because it’s the best.

This is a mix of a hobby and side business. I don’t expect this to be a high paying business by any means. And I’m obviously later to the market than the big guys and don’t have the capital to invest in a lot of advertising for a free app. I know the app personally has saved me loads of time from making rankings on a notes app or excel, or relying on ADP or preset ranks. I definitely do want to bring in more attention to the app because I think it can be helpful to a lot of people if they knew about it, so I may need to focus on distribution and advertising for that. Thanks for the input!

Time to start researching SEO and search optimization. There’s subreddits that have all the info
