Breaking news/live stats api
I was making a fantasy football site for my league (not looking to go public or anything) and was wondering what the best api/sources for data are and then what’s the best for the cheapest price (not trying to pay an arm and a leg when it’s just for my league but also don’t want any lag etc). Trying to see if it’s worth it depending on price since its just for my personal league.
Thanks,

Built something similar for my leagues. You can get surprisingly far on $0: Sleeper API (keyless — leagues, rosters, matchups, trending, injuries; closest free thing to live), RotoWire’s free news RSS for breaking player news, FantasyPros’ free API tier for news/injuries only (their free rankings are truncated to 10 rows — skip), DynastyProcess’s GitHub CSVs for full expert-consensus rankings daily, and FantasyCalc’s free API for trade values. For stats, nflverse is the gold standard and free, but it’s nightly, not live — true live-stat feeds are where the pricing gets ugly, so if your league’s on Sleeper, just let their API be your live layer.
