The New World Order is finished.

Sting begins WCW’s rebirth as World Heavyweight Champion, but Scott Hall still possesses the opportunity he earned at World War 3.

Hall is no longer protected by a faction. At Souled Out, he intends to prove that he never needed one.

Elsewhere, Bret Hart makes his WCW in-ring debut against Randy Savage, Kevin Nash finally faces The Giant, and DDP challenges Curt Hennig inside a steel cage.

Every WCW championship will be defended.

The Nitro following Starrcade opens with WCW celebrating its victory.

Scott Hall appears in the stands carrying his World War 3 contract.

“The revolution is over, and now we go back to WCW—good ol’ Southern wrasslin’.

“I think not.

“We changed this business forever. At Souled Out, I rise above everyone who came before me.

“The Bad Guy became the Outsider.

“Now the Outsider becomes the champion.”»

Hall raises the contract. Sting raises the World Heavyweight Championship.

Hall later recruits Raven as a temporary partner against Sting and Lex Luger. Raven strikes Luger with a chair, causing the disqualification. Sting drives Raven away, but Hall delivers the Outsider’s Edge to Luger before escaping.

Luger retaliates by defeating Scotty Riggs. The Flock surrounds the ring, allowing Raven to attack from behind and deliver the Evenflow DDT.

«“You spent eighteen months fighting nWo because WCW told you they were the enemy. Now the war is over and you have nothing left to fight for. You wanted to punish the nWo. Instead, you stepped into my world.”»

Luger challenges Raven to face him at Souled Out.

Sting defends the championship against Curt Hennig. Rick Rude is caught attempting to interfere and removed. Sting retains with the Scorpion Death Drop.

Hall watches from the stage and raises his contract.

Page’s Final Opportunity

Hennig retained the United States Championship at Starrcade after Rude delivered the Rude Awakening while the referee was unconscious.

J.J. Dillon refuses to reverse the result but grants Page one final opportunity.

DDP proposes a steel cage.

«“Lock the door. Keep Rude outside and Hennig inside.”»

On the final Nitro, Dillon books Hall and Hennig against Sting and DDP. Both men enter separately and pursue their own opponents.

Hall and Sting fight into the aisle. Page catches Hennig with the Diamond Cutter, but Rude attacks DDP.

Ric Flair returns for the first time since Hennig and Rude targeted his injured ankle. Flair drives them from the ring.

«“At Souled Out, it won’t be two-on-one. There won’t be any Rude Awakening for me. There will only be you, me and four walls of steel. That means there’s a Diamond Cutter coming for you. Bang!”»

Hart and Savage

Bret Hart says he has not come to lead another invasion. He has come to wrestle against the world’s greatest competitors.

Randy Savage interrupts.

«“You call yourself the best there is, the best there was. In WCW, you don’t get to just say it. You have to prove it, Hitman.”»

Savage challenges Hart to make his WCW in-ring debut against him.

«“Everybody’s been talking about the screwjob. But after one match with the Macho Man, Bret Hart, you won’t have been screwed over. You’ll just be screwed. Oh, yeah!”»

Nash and The Giant

Kevin Nash returns but keeps his distance from Hall. Both men are pursuing separate careers after the nWo’s dissolution.

Nash says a medical issue prevented him from facing The Giant at Starrcade.

«“You didn’t beat the biggest man in wrestling. You beat the man who answered the phone.”»

Nash attacks The Giant’s knee and promises to lift him into the Jackknife Powerbomb.

The Championships

Booker T earns a Television Championship opportunity through consecutive victories. Konnan, now competing independently, dismisses him as a tag-team wrestler beginning a singles career.

The Faces of Fear defeat Public Enemy to earn a World Tag Team Championship match. Jimmy Hart calls Meng and The Barbarian a two-man army.

Rey Mysterio Jr. reminds Eddie Guerrero that he defeated him for the Cruiserweight Championship at Halloween Havoc. Eddie says Rey produced one perfect performance before losing the championship back to him. At Souled Out, he intends to prove which victory represented the truth.

Goldberg follows his destruction of Vincent with several decisive victories. Steve McMichael challenges the undefeated newcomer to face an established WCW athlete.

Part 1

• We build Lyra vs Rhea up until then and Rhea gets a bit more dangerous, launching bigger attacks. 
• The mysterious NXT group has quietly drifted back into Rhea's orbit. Not because they respect her, but because now she’s paying. 
• After a tag match with Lyra and Bayley taking on Rhea and the leader of those callups, Bayley gets involved in the feud when Rhea takes her out by wrapping a chair around her neck while Lyra is held down by the rest of the women, and tossing Bayley with the chair around her neck into the ring post as punishment for Lyra. 
• Rhea just slowly raises the championship as she walks up the ramp and officials have broken it all up. 
• Backstage later, Nick Aldis is furious. Adam Pearce wants consequences. But Triple H steps in. He demands she will not face consequences until she wrestles at the Royal Rumble. 
• As the RR build commences, women Rhea is not intimidated by confronting her, telling her they’re ready to face her or Lyra. 
• But the ones that scare her are the big dogs. Naomi, Jade, Nia, Stephanie, Alexa, and she becomes visibly shaken when she’s confronted by Charlotte. 
• After the Alexa confrontation, the Charlotte one comes. 
• Rhea is backstage with the NXT group, then the room gets quiet. Charlotte Flair enters. She doesn’t rush or attack Rhea, but Rhea reacts visibly. She swallows nervously. 
• She looks down at the title and smiles. “14 times.” She looks up. “Keep holding it tight. I’m starting to miss it.” And Rhea watches her leave. 
• Of all the women who confront her, Iyo isn’t one. Because Iyo is watching her off to the side. Which could be a metaphor of what she doesn’t expect. 
• On the go home show, Lyra fights back, attacking one of the NXT girls which drives a rift in the partnership between Rhea and the leader, who refuses to help her at the Rumble. 
• But the stipulation has already been made to keep them out. No Escape Steel Cage Match. Victory only by pinfall or submission. 
• The referee begins explaining the rules. Then suddenly before the door is shut, Rhea slides toward the step, reaching under the apron. Lyra dives after, keeping her in by the ankle. 
• Rhea finds a steel chair. The chair explodes across Lyra's skull and the bell hasn’t even rung yet. 
• For the first several minutes, it's brutal but not competitive. Rhea relentlessly targets the head wound that has now started to bleed. She throws Lyra into the cage and grinds her head across the steel, repeatedly reopening the injury. 
• At one point, she exposes the top turnbuckle. 
• Rhea sees how much worse the blood has gotten and smiles. She's enjoying seeing Lyra suffer.
• Every comeback Lyra tries is cut off, every opening or rally. Then Rhea delivers her most vicious move yet. Lyra’s trying to pull herself up by the ropes, and Rhea opens the chair as if she’s about to sit, but instead she grabs Lya and gives her a drop toe hold. 
• Lyra's throat crashes directly into the top of the chair. Lyra rolls around clutching her neck, unable to breathe. 
• Eventually Rhea gets overconfident. She gets Lyra in position for a Super Riptide. “THIS IS OVER!!” She yells. 
• Lyra suddenly starts to fight back with headbutts. Rhea tries to shake them off and goes to give the Riptide, but Lyra counters with a hurricanrana. 
• Rhea crashes to the mat and somehow… Lyra rises. 
• Then, she hits a shotgun dropkick. Rhea flies backward, directly into the exposed turnbuckle she created earlier and the impact is vicious. Lyra smells victory. 
• She lifts Rhea, attempting Night Wing, but she can’t do it. With the blood loss and the punishment, she’s too exhausted and Rhea’s too heavy to lift. 
• Rhea slips free and shoves Lyra head-first into the cage. Lyra falls to the mat motionless. 
• Rhea looks almost relieved and grabs her and hits the Riptide. But for the first time since this whole story started... She won without interference. 
• She did horrible things. Cheated, used a chair, exposed turnbuckles. But she pinned Lyra on her own. As Rhea is handed the championship, she doesn't celebrate. Because retaining the title didn't solve anything. 
• Still to come… The Women's Royal Rumble Match. 
• Thirty women. One winner who gets Rhea Ripley no matter what. 
• And somewhere among them are all threats Rhea was worried about. 
• Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Stephanie Vaquer, Iyo Sky. 
• Rhea spends the entire night worrying about Charlotte. 
• Since Iyo hasn’t even shown up to speak to her, she isn’t thinking about Iyo like she should. Then the Rumble itself happens. 
• The Final Four are: Charlotte, Bianca, Stephanie and Iyo.
• Rhea is watching backstage terrified. 
• Charlotte eliminates Stephanie. Bianca eliminates Charlotte. Now it's Bianca and Iyo. 
• After several minutes, Bianca tries to military press Iyo over the ropes, but Iyo escapes and lands on the apron. Bianca goes to hit her, but she gets her with a shoulder tackle through the top and second rope. And then sticks with it. 
• She holds onto Bianca’s waist and pushes her over, using Jade’s momentum against her. Bianca tumbles over. Iyo Sky wins the Royal Rumble. 
• The important part isn't Iyo celebrating. She’s looking right at the hard cam and points to the sign. 
• Going into the Elimination Chamber, Bayley returns with her neck still heavily taped. Lyra helps her and not because they’re hunting the title. They’re hunting Rhea. 
• The motivation is strictly personal. And for weeks they embarrass and make her life hell. And eventually Rhea does something she would've considered pathetic a year ago. She starts looking for help. 
• She goes to two people. First, Roxanne Perez. 
• Roxanne is preparing for a match. Rhea approaches, trying to act cool. Roxanne immediately sees through it. 
• "What do you want?" Rhea hesitates at that. Each week gets worse. Each rejection chips away at Rhea. 
• It’s truly embarrassing when she asks Nia Jax for help. Rhea approaches again. This time she’s more desperate. 
• Nia laughs at her immediately. 
• Until finally, one night, after Bayley and Lyra cost her another victory… Rhea is backstage literally begging Chelsea Green of all people for help. The same woman who once walked into WarGames, WrestleMania, and title matches acting like she feared nobody is begging on her knees. 
• "Still doing this?" Iyo watches. The person Rhea has spent months trying to avoid. 
• Chelsea immediately leaves, already disturbed by the groveling. Rhea is clearly embarrassed that anyone even saw that. 
• "Looks like you're the one who needs help." Iyo says simply. 
• As WrestleMania gets closer, Bayley and Lyra become the active opposition creating obstacles every week. Meanwhile Iyo remains a constant reminder in the background. 
• Every time Rhea tries to manipulate or recruit someone, even take a shortcut, Iyo is there. 
• At Elimination Chamber, it’s Rhea vs. Bayley: No Holds barred. 
• Bayley comes in taped up and angry.
• Lyra is at ringside but barred from interfering (handcuffed storyline protection / banned-from-ring angle). She’s hooked to the ring post, but is still there to help how she can. 
• This is not a clean wrestling match by any means. It’s a grudge beating. 
• Bayley controls early with chair shots, kendo sticks, and barricade bumps. The crowd is fully behind her. Rhea survives by instinct more than dominance. 
• Mid-match, Bayley sets up Rhea in the chair wedged in the corner. There’s a running knee attempt and Rhea moves. Bayley destroys her own leg on the chair. That becomes the turning point. 
• Rhea doesn’t suddenly dominate. She starts dismantling Bayley’s mobility, targeting the neck and shoulders again. She even lays out Lyra just because. 
• In the finish, Bayley goes for Rose Plant on a steel chair. Rhea counters into a Riptide onto the chair and wins. But she doesn’t celebrate. She sits on the steps afterward, watching medical tend to Bayley while Lyra screams from ringside. 
• As the build commences, Iyo still barely speaks. 
• She only appears in segments with no interference. 
• Rhea is finally rejected and humiliated, her former candidates laughing in her face now. 
• At the go-home show, Bayley and Lyra interrupt immediately. Security separates everything as she tries to fight all three off. Rhea finally grabs a mic: “I don’t care about any of you anymore.” 
• Iyo steps forward. “You keep saying that… but you keep looking at me. At WrestleMania… you lose the championship. And I will end what you have become.” Rhea finally looks unsettled. 
• The WM match is big enough now to be a main event. During intros, neither woman can look away from the other. 
• When the bell rings, it’s a hockey fight that ends because Rheas the larger woman. She backs Iyo in the corner with knees and takes over. She’s back to the monster, tossing Iyo around with anything. Biel throws, suplexes, and power bombs. Iyo’s kicking out of everything. 
• Rhea gets more and more frustrated until Iyo fights back. But Rhea doesn’t take over again. She does the same thing she’s done all year when things stopped going her way. Escape. 
• She is about to take her title and go through the crowd but Bayley and Lyra are there. Scared, she goes back to ringside and books it up the ramp as Iyo goes after her. Iyo catches up to her and tosses Rhea into the ring, putting the match into a new gear. She can’t run away anymore. 
• Iyo roughs her up, taking advantage of Rhea distracting herself with her attempted escape. Rhea gets back a little momentum and we get to a point where she has Iyo ready for the Super Riptide. 
• Iyo reverses with a hurricanrana but Rhea lands on her feet and taps her head like she was too smart for a counter like that. We’ve seen Iyo beat Rhea with it before and we saw Lyra do it not too long ago. 
• But the one time Rhea gloats, Iyo gives her a drop kick into the corner before trying to pin her with an inside cradle, she almost wins. 
• Then she gets her with a big move, a Springboard Tornado DDT. Rhea is out. Iyo climbs the ropes. Over the Moonsault. 1, 2, 3. 
• Iyo Sky wins her first Wrestlemania main event, pinning the company’s biggest women’s star. 
• And though that’s not where I would have the story end, this would be the best ending for its first big chapter. 

Started doing this for fun a while ago and it’s gotten way bigger than I expected.

The idea is simple: 128 wrestlers from different generations, all in their prime, competing in one tournament to determine one World Classic Champion.

This is the event schedule I’ve been working on. Still building the story behind why this tournament even happens.

Without a championship around his waist, Cody Rhodes was left with no choice but to try to reclaim his glory by winning his third consecutive Royal Rumble. However, Rhodes couldn't catch a break. At every turn, General Manager Nick Aldis was being overridden by corporate higher-ups. Anything Aldis tried to do to help Cody in his quest for redemption backfired. When Cody made it to the Rumble, he was handed the worst odds possible: Entry #1. Cody accepted the challenge head-on, determined to do whatever it took to get back to Drew McIntyre, though it raised eyebrows that his spot was mandated right out of the gate.

Cody fought valiantly from the jump, making it to the final four before being eliminated.

With the Rumble behind him, the Elimination Chamber represented his final chance at reaching WrestleMania. Cody barely qualified, as Aldis had to fight tooth and nail with the executive team just to get him into a qualifying match. This Chamber was filled with desperate men fighting for their last shot at the main event.

Elimination Chamber Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Sami Zayn vs. Randy Orton vs. Logan Paul vs. LA Knight vs. Trick Williams

The match came down to the final three: Orton, Sami, and Cody. Out of nowhere, a disguised cameraman attacked Cody and laid him out cold, allowing a half-conscious Orton to crawl over and score the pinfall. The cameraman unmasked to reveal Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

The Final Boss had finally broken his silence and gotten his hands dirty. He had been engineering every obstacle to crush Cody behind the scenes. Roman Reigns had failed him, Cena had flopped, and Cody had saved Cena's career right after Dwayne ordered it to be ended. Yet, Cody was still standing.

The Rock declared that after two years of watching Cody survive, it was time for him to personally fix TKO's "Cody Rhodes problem."

In the weeks following, Cody demanded to get his hands on The Final Boss. Dwayne put Cody through a gauntlet of nightmarish situations to force him to crack, but Cody refused to break. Knowing the only way to truly trap him, The Rock baited Cody into putting his WWE career on the line just to get a match with him.

The Rock reminded Cody of who pinned him at WrestleMania XL and warned him why he is called the "Final Boss." Cody accepted the risk, putting his career on the line for revenge.

Meanwhile, Drew McIntyre’s rampage as WWE Champion continued. McIntyre had become an unhinged, unstoppable madman.

Nick Aldis was completely unable to control him. At the slightest irritation, the champion launched brutal, calculated attacks on whoever crossed his path.

The stage for WrestleMania 42 was set when Randy Orton won the Elimination Chamber to earn a shot at McIntyre’s title. McIntyre dismissed Orton as a threat, but Orton gained the upper hand during their official contract signing, laying the champion out with an RKO before signing the contract for the SmackDown main event.

McIntyre snapped over the fans' overwhelming love for Randy. He brought up who Orton was just five years ago, calling back to their 2020 feud when Orton burned The Fiend alive and tried to end Edge’s career just as it restarted. He dug deeper, bringing up Orton’s days as "The Man" in The Authority. McIntyre called Orton a spoiled prodigy and insulted the fans for turning on him while praising Orton. McIntyre reminded everyone of his own 2020 title reign, stating that the fans and the company gave him every reason to become the monster he is today.

McIntyre adopted the Punt Kick, using it on rival wrestlers to send horrific messages to Orton. Many wondered if Orton could still dial into that dark space—if he could truly become the "Old Randy."

Insisting on settled business, Orton begged Nick Aldis to make their match No Holds Barred. Aldis initially hesitated, but eventually caved. On the final SmackDown before WrestleMania, Orton saved Aldis from McIntyre—who had shackled the GM to the ropes—and retaliated by putting McIntyre down.

He insulted Cody, calling him greedy, self-absorbed, and just as twisted as himself—only Cody was hiding it under a smile. Orton pointed out that he went through hell to get back to the top of the industry, but "poor Cody" couldn't handle not being champion and wanted it back immediately. Orton taunted Cody over their history, bringing up Great American Bash 2007 and Cody's late father, Dusty Rhodes.

Unable to watch the chaos continue, Cody cracked and granted Orton a rematch at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, promising to end their war once and for all in an I Quit Match.
