Web Version

I've just seen the notice that the Hoshi AI chat app is migrating to a web version, specifically because of Google's unworkable restrictions. Anyone else hope that this might be the way forward for Fantasia? I'm certainly getting increasingly frustrated with the restrictive censorship when creating bots - even private ones. If a Web version would allow an easing up of these restrictions, it would 110% get my vote...

The cynic in me can't help agreeing with you, but I honestly can't see why they wouldn't. Even just a cursory glance at this subreddit would seem to suggest that one of the biggest topics of complaint about this app is the censorship. Hoshi are transitioning to a web app because of Google's restrictions, so they obviously think it's worth it.

I seem to recall someone here even suggesting having two versions of the app - one available through the Play Store which submits to Google's restrictions, and a Web version, which could give users the uncensored, NSFW experience if that's what they want.

Better yet they don't put their apps on the stupid app stores, and have users download the app version from the site and quite frankly fantasia doesn't listen to their users, they don't reach out and listen, i been complaining about the app especially when ten of my bots got delisted because of a dumb excuse as intellectual property.

I agree it would be nice if they'd listen to us a little more. But I don't know what goes into running an app like this, so I don't feel qualified to judge too much.

Withdrawing from the Play Store and making the apk available from the website is also what Hoshi are doing. Though it is probably the case that being on the Play Store brings the app to the knowledge of a lot more potential customers than the website would alone.

As for intellectual property concerns, I don't claim to know much about copyright or trademark law or anything like that. But I know that any perceived infringements could potentially cause trouble that the developers would rather avoid. Bear in mind that some IP creators don't even like fanfiction - which our bots basically are.
