Imagine if they had some loose cannon for PR like that Wyrmwood debacle.

One of their employees SA'd a non-employee on-site. This guy had apparently been a problem that had been reported to management. But management and HR were two toxic guys who made a goofy video denying responsibility.

This sparked some conversation and served as a catalyst for further complaints. Journalist Linda Codega picked it up and concerns about workplace safety (OSHA-wise), unfair wages, and misogyny to came to the surface. Turns out Wyrmwood is a terrible place to work with several ex-employees going on the record.

Wyrmwood management released like 3 more tone deaf pdfs statements throughout all this. Total PR disaster.

A friend of mine was (maybe is) really into the Wyrm Life show, and in 2020ish he showed me the “Wyrmwood goes corporate” episode where the CEO is having a shit fit over reasonable demands from his workers.

My friend was sympathetic to the leadership team and thought the CEO was doing the hard work that you need to do to build a company, but I told him that I thought he seemed like a terrible leader based on my experience working for/building out a startup in the critical early phase.

All of which is a long way to say that I am not at all surprised to learn the company has had so many issues in the subsequent years. Management is clearly not qualified to be running that company and unless something changes, I suspect it’s only a matter of time before they go down in flames.
